Travel routes

• There are 5 main routes of travel based from house 1.– 1 - 5

• There are 4 main routes of travel based from house 2.– 6 – 9

• All travel routes are organized in a clockwise fashion from each house, starting with the lowest number.

• Each address is located in a box area• Each box is either 3 or 4 numbers,

depending on company• Example:

– Box 321: 3 = Bel Air

2 = route of travel

1 = distance from station

• Based on the box alone, you can start in the general direction

Numbering system

• The Harford County system begins at Main St. & Pennsylvania Ave.– Havre de Grace, Joppa, Aberdeen

do not follow this system

• Blocks:– Unit: 0 – 99– 100: 100 – 199– Generally, each block is between

2 major cross streets

Numbering system

• If traveling North or East, odds are on the right side

• If traveling South or West, they are on the left side

• Try to remember certain addresses. – For example, house 1 is 109.

Therefore, you know that any street parallel to Hickory Ave. has the odds on the right side going north

– John Carroll is 703 Churchville Rd.

• What side of the road is 104 Plumtree Rd. ? (going south)
