HOW DID WISCONSIN GET INVOVLED?

U.S. Department of Education Office of Vocational and Adult Education sent a RFP announcement. Great opportunity to expand Wisconsin’s work in the area of

programs of study Announcement of the award was in October, 2010 $258,400/year up to a maximum of four years

WHY MANUFACTURING

Wisconsin is home to over 9,000 manufacturesManufacturing accounts for $47 billion to our

state’s economyThe manufacturing industry ranks #2 in

Wisconsin gross state productThe manufacturing industry employs 448,000

workersSix states in total were awarded RPOS grants

WHO IS INVOLVED

The Northcentral Technical College area and four area local high schools Wausau West Wausau East D.C. Everest Spencer

WHAT IS A RPOS?

Focuses on the ten components The ten components are currently embedded into the

five areas of our current Carl Perkins application

Grant money uses: Local core and CTE collaboration, tours, curriculum

development, consortium in-service of CTE and core

EVALUATION

We will be using data to evaluate the effectivness of our work. The evaluation will using RPOS concentrators versus non-RPOS concentrators.
