1 PURPOSE

This Manual illustrates the installation requirements for superseded equipment, specifically old style transformers, IPS kiosks and associated Medium Voltage (MV)

switchgear.

The drawings are made to align with the present standard of transformer installation; in order to avoid potential problems when excavating and upgrading around old equipment.

This Standard supersedes the Western Power Document (record DMS# 3119466]

previously in use by Horizon Power since disaggregation.

2 SCOPE

The following superseded equipment arrangements are covered in this standard:

1) 315, 500 and 1000 kVA old style transformers;

2) 315-500 kVA IPS kiosks with/without MV switchgear;

3) MPS transformers with F & G MV switchgear;

4) Sole use and district substation installation in brick compounds;

5) Customer owned substation with MV indoor mounted switchgear Alstom Fluokit M24; and

6) Alstom FBA MV switchgear Kiosk and Installation details.

NOTE: For information on superseded civil requirements for distribution substations,

automation requirements for old switchgear; superseded indoor switchgear support design and related drawings please refer to previous versions of the corresponding Distribution Substation Manual.
