DISASSEMBLY
DIAL POINTER INSTALLATION
1. Turn YC fully in the direction of arrow.
2. Install PULLEY DRUM to VC so that stopper (A)
and stopper (B) is touched as illustrated.

ADJUSTMENTS
3-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS PRECAUTION
1. Clean the following parts with a denaturedalcohol-
moistened swab:
record/playback head pinch rollers
playback head rubber belts
erase head idlers
capstan
2. Demagnetize the record/playback head with a head
demagnetizer.
3. Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the adjustments.
4. After the adjustments, apply ‘suitable locking compound
to the parts adjusted.
5. The adjustments should be performed with the rated
power supply voltage unless otherwise noted.

3-2. ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENTS
0dB=0.775V (AF) 0dB=0.1zV (RF)
CASSETTE DECK SECTION 1. Demagnetize the record/playback head with a head
demagnetizer. (Do not bring the head demagnetizer close
to the erase head.)
2. Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the adjustments.
3. After the adjustments, apply suitable locking compound
to the parts adjusted.
4, The adjustments should be performed with the rated
power supply voltage unless otherwise noted.
5. The adjustments should be performed in the order given
in this service manual. (As a general rule, playback
Circuit adjustment should be completed before perform-
ing recording circuit adjustment.)
6. The adjustments should be performed for both L-CH and
R-CH.
e Switches and controls should be set as follows unless
otherwise specified.
TAPE SELECT switch: NORMAL
3kHz, 0dB Tape Speed Adjustment
Record/Playback Head Azimuth Adjustment
Note: Perform this adjustments for both decks.
Procedure:
1. Mode: FWD playback
test tape P-4-A063 (6.3kHz, —10dB) headphones jack
Turn the adjustment screw for the maximum output
levels, If these levels do not match, turn the adjustment
screw until both of output levels match together within
1dB.

frequency is 50kHz.

1. Adjust with SVR340 so that the noise is
minimum.
