    WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?

Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-

demand network accessto a shared pool of

configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services)that can be

rapidly provisioned and released with minimalmanagement effort or service provider interaction.

    CLOUD COMPUTING DEPLOYMENT

    1. Public Cloud

    Available through Internet

    Scalable, dynamically

    provisioned, virtualized resources

    More vulnerable

    2. Private Cloud

    Available through private network

Still need to purchase, set up and

    manage their own clouds

    Greatest level of security and

    control

    3. Hybrid Cloud

Includes a variety of public and

    private options with multiple

    providers

    TRADITIONAL SOFTWARE VS CLOUD

    SAAS

    Traditional Software Cloud SaaS

Need dedicated server Only need client PC

    Need more Installation costs/time prior

    to accessto the software

    Log on and use

    Would only work from pre-defined

    locationsAnywhere via a simple internetconnection

1001 thingsthat can go wrong with a

server and downtime could be lengthy

A guaranteed service level agreement is

    provided.

    Additional users/offices would require

    hardware costs, local installation and

    setup time and costing money.

Additional licence/offices are just a case

    of addingusersto the system

Many points of failure with a local

    server/network

Single point of failure (internet down),

    mightuse backup internet provider

Dependent on quality of local firewall

and availability of man power to monitor.

    Depends on how advance ofsecurity

    technology applied

    REGULATION BENCHMARK

Adoption of cloud computing in China is also heldback by regulation. Beijing, which alsoblocks Facebook, prohibits companies from storing

their data offshore, meaningthey can use datacenters only inside China. As a result, IDCestimated, only about 4 percent of companies inChina were using cloud-based services last year,

compared with 16 percent in Singapore.

    lalu-lintas dan penyimpanan data, pelaku

    pembobolan dapat diajukan ke pengadilan.
