Manly West Esplanade Heritage Activation PlanTogether we want to explore the heritage of West Esplanade and how we can revitalise the area for the community.

Did you know that Manly’s West Esplanade has a rich history spanning thousands of years?

Northern Beaches Council has received a Heritage Near Me Activation Grant from the NSW Government Office of Environment and Heritage to develop a Heritage Activation Plan for Manly West Esplanade.

The Heritage Activation Plan aims to:

• Highlight the history of the area pre and post European settlement

• Define opportunities and initiatives for the community to appreciatethe heritage of the area

• Create opportunities for the community to interact and enjoy heritage items

• Investigate the nostalgia of the lost heritage of West Esplanade includingthe art gallery facade and boardwalk

How to Get Involved

Stretching from Manly Wharf around to the Manly Pavilion, the area includes a number of land owners including Northern Beaches Council, Crown land (managed by Northern Beaches Council) and Roads and Maritime Services (The Manly Pavilion, Aquarium and Ferry Wharf).
