Manly Town HallShort term community use of meeting roomsDraft fees and charges

Background

Rooms for hire

At its meeting on 27th August 2019, Council approved the short-term, interim use of the Manly Town Hall Chamber meeting rooms for hire to the public. The following document outlines the rooms available and proposed fees and charges associated with renting the space.

The proposed fees are based on existing fees of similar sized spaces in other Council Community Centres.

The rooms will be available when not being used for Council purposes, subject to conditions of hire. This is predominantly after 5pm on weekdays and from 6am to 11pm on weekends and public holidays.

The long-term use of Manly Town Hall is for future consideration and will require extensive community consultation at that time.

There are three rooms located in the upstairs area of the Town Hall that would be suitable for small to medium sized meetings, community or small private functions or health and leisure activities.

The three rooms are separate but have concertina walls to allow for a larger space when combined. As such they can cater for between 20 to a maximum of 100 people if rented together as one larger space.

The Cove Meeting Room Cove Meeting Room is 35sqm and seats a maximum of 12 people for a meeting.

Councillors Room Councillors Meeting Room is 62sqm and can seat a maximum of 20 people for a meeting.

Council Chambers Council Chambers is 94sqm and can seat 20 to 70 people for a meeting.

The former Chambers and Councillors Rooms can be opened up for a larger event of up to 100 people.
