Stage 1 Excursion Last week stage 1 went on an excursion to Tamworth. They went to the Forum 6 Cinema to watch the movie “Hotel Transylvania 2”, followed by pizza for lunch and playtime at Tamworth Marsupial Park and Adventure Playground. The smiles in the photos really do show just how much fun they had on their excursion. Thank you to Miss Sevil for organising such a fun day.

Pink Day Last Tuesday the SRC committee held a mufti day to

raise money for the Cancer Council. Thank you to all

Primary Presentation Day Presentation Day was held last Friday, 11th December. Congratulations to the many students who received awards, sporting, academic or cultural. It is a wonderful way to finish the year by celebrating the many achievements of students at our school. The concert band, primary choir and infants’ choir entertained the audience. Thank you to Mr O’Neill and Miss O’Brien for all your organisation of the band and choir.

Mrs Nist, Miss O’Brien, Miss Berriman and Mrs Goodman were also formally thanked and farewelled. The school wishes you all the best in your various future endeavours (retirement or future schools). The highly anticipated announcement of school captains for 2016 was also revealed. Congratulations to Brock Russell, Jacob Faulks, Angela McCubbin and Holly Wagstaff (pictured) who will lead the Primary School in 2016.

Last Wednesday we conducted Expression of Interest interviews for a Mathematics teacher for 2016 and a Hospitality teacher. Ms Leanne Dark was successful at interview for the Mathematics position and Mrs Jessica Turner was successful for the Hospitality position. Congratulations Leanne and Jessica. Last Thursday we conducted interviews for one of the Assistant Principal positions. Ms Sarah Dixon from Wilcannia Central School was successful in attaining this position. Sarah is currently a K – 10 Instructional Leader in her school and brings to Manilla a wealth of knowledge in the areas of curriculum and visible learning. We are looking forward to Sarah joining Mrs Cox in leading our Primary department and we’d like to thank Mr Willis for stepping into the Assistant Principal position whilst it was vacant.
