Biblical Manifestations

The question is being asked, "What are true revival

manifestations?" It seems that at this point people begin to talkabout physical manifestations and ignore the more important

manifestations. If e are e!periencing true revival, people ill be

coming to the altars to accept esus as their #avior. $thers ill berepenting and getting right ith %od.

In true revival the Word of %od ill be preached ith poer and

signs and onders as spoken about by the apostle &aul in 1

'orinthians ()*+

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much

trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not withenticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the

Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the

wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

What are the physical manifestations that are being e!perienced?

-re they mentioned in the ible? -re all physical manifestationsof %od, or are some of them in the flesh, or even demonic? /et0s

look first at the physical manifestations that are in the Word of

%od.

Slain in the Spirit

$ne frequent revival manifestation is often called being "slain in

the #pirit" or "falling under the poer of %od." What does theible have to say on this subect?

!"ekiel #:$% As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in

the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round

about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the

&(). And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a *oiceof one that spake.

Shaking, Jerking or Trembling

)aniel #-:#-,## Then, suddenly, a hand touched me, whichmade me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And

he said to me, )aniel, man greatly belo*ed, understand thewords that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I ha*e now been

sent to you. <hile he was speaking this word to me, I stood

trembling.

7eremiah $+:9 @y heart within me is broken because of the prophets2 all my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a

man whom wine has o*ercome, because of the &(), and because

of 6is holy words.

Groaning and Travailing

(omans %:$=,$0 &ikewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. 1or we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the

Spirit 6imself makes intercession for us with groanings which

cannot be uttered. ?ow 6e who searches the hearts knows whatthe mind of the Spirit is, because 6e makes intercession for the

saints according to the will of God.

confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of

opened and an obect like a great sheet bound at the four corners,descending to him and let down to the earth.

?ow while >eter wondered within himself what this *ision which

he had seen meant, behold, the men who had been sent from

ornelius had made inuiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate.

It is important to understand that %od does not violate anyone0sfree volition. With %od, e are alays free to choose the ay e

ant to go. 4e allos us to turn our backs on all that 4e has

provided for us. 4e allos us to go our on ay ust as 4e

alloed the children of Israel to choose not to enter into the

&romise /and. ecause of their choice, they andered and died inthe ilderness for the ne!t forty years. We are free to make our

on choices and to reap our on reards.

%od said in 5evelation that the day is coming hen 4e is going to

spe the lukearm out of 4is mouth.

(e*elation +:#3,#= I know thy works, that thou art neither cold

nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thouart lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my

mouth.

The important thing is not that e have a certain manifestation or

don0t have it. The important thing is that e are in right standing

ith %od + that e love 4im and serve ith 4im ith our holeheart. esus said e cannot orship %od e!cept in the #pirit and in

truth. We cannot orship 4im ith our emotions or ith our

minds. We must enter into the realm of the #pirit.

7ohn 4:$+,$4 Eut the hour cometh, and now is, when the trueworshippers shall worship the 1ather in spirit and in truth: for

the 1ather seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they

that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

ust as %od allos us to choose our on ay, 4is Word makes it

clear that e are not to udge others. In times of revival and timesof questioning %od0s ays, it is good to read 6atthe 7 once

again.

udgment ye udge, ye shall be udged: and with what measure ye

mete, it shall be measured to you again.

o men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles/

8ven so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit9 but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. - good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit,

neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 8very tree that

bringeth not forth good fruit is hen don, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall kno them.

The gift of the 4oly #pirit is available to every believer. 4e is theonly one ho can reveal to us the truth of the Word of %od, and

the fruit of those ho minister among us. In times of questions, do

not look to hat another says or rites. /ook to the Word of %od.It is our only absolute foundation. We cannot discern the truth by

our traditions, by our e!periences, or through our intellect or souls.

The things of the #pirit are foolishness to the natural mind.

# orinthians $:#4 Eut the natural man recei*eth not the

things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Through the 4oly #pirit, e can kno the spirit behind each

manifestation as it happens by operating in the gift of the

discerning of spirits.

The 0%estions each one of %s sho%ld be asking o%rselves are1

-re sinners being saved?

-re captives to sin being set free?

-re believers repenting and returning to their first love?

-re 'hristians becoming lovers of %od, of 4is Word and of

others?

Is the revival building the kingdom of %od by bringing people of allages into a deeper, personal revelation and e!perience of the

presence of 'hrist?

'hristians are not going to come into agreement in every area ofdoctrine. It0s time to lay those differences aside and oin each other in

praying for revival in every church, in every group, even in every

family in our area.
