2018 Fair Theme

“Cowboy Boots & Down Home Roots”

Status to Participate in Fair

• Youth are not required to belong to 4-H

Youth may participate in Open Youth Division as in Market Sale

• Youth can only go to State Fair if they are enrolled in and show as 4-H

Livestock Statistics

• 163 Youth Exhibitors

• 396 Animal Exhibits

• $5,184 Paid in Premiums

• Sheep Barn won the Black and White (State Fair Judge Best Area)

Market Sale Stats

Setup for Market Sale

• A number of Buyers have mentioned being uncomfortable having parents sitting across from them throughout the sale.

Therefore we are going to set up a video camera to stream to a television in the Barn for parents.

The intent is to also have a barbeque for parents at the same time.

The current parent seating area will be for sale exhibitors when their species is not selling.

• Certificates will be set out alphabetically on a series of tables in the Buyer check-out area.

• There will be no shared animals between bidders at checkout. One buyer will pay the Sale Committee and work out sharing with the other.

• All Boosts must be on the Boost Form (fully filled out) which will be the inside of the tri-fold and on the back page of the Sales Catalog

• Boosts will be accepted until end of day Thursday August 23rd. They will be sent back after that.

• Funds in case Sale Animal dies during transport.

system, as well as unanticipated expenses.

Camping

• Each club will have a single point of contact for camping. They will notify us by email at [email protected] with club name, a personal email and phone# by March 1st.

• The fair board will then send out the camping registration form which will be due back June 4th.

• Site assignments and an invoice will be sent to point person. Payment is due to Community Events and Recreation by July 12th. Single payment by club is required.

• CE&R will not answer questions on the exhibitor camping issue, nor will they move people once assigned..
