e) Mechanism/ Norms and Procedure for democratic/ good Governance

Institute follows good democratic governance by following:

I. Faculties and students are the part of many administrative decisions such as

activities at the department and institute level.

II. Faculties are given a free hand to deal with various subjects based on their choices.

III. Students are given the choice for various electives, deciding various program at

department and institute level.

IV. All the stack holders are part of the academic decisions from time to time.

V. Students and faculties are allow to visit seminar, industry, conferences etc.

VI. Alumni are invited as a member of department advisory board.

VII. Institute time-table, examinations dates, and non-technical activities are arranged

by faculties democratically.

VIII. Faculties and students are also involved in non-academic activities such as

Navratri, UthFest, Holi Celebration, etc. organized by university.

f) Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/ Faculty performance

Feedbacks are taken at the end of each semester by the faculties about the subject

teacher and the department. The report is submitted to the director after the feedback

is analysed. Subsequently, the director write the remark against the feedback and

suggestion. Feedbacks and reports are returned to the concerned department thereby

head of department invite individual faculty to share with them their feedback given

by the students and they will be instructed for improvements wherever possible.

g) Grievance Redressal mechanism for Faculty, staff and students

Whenever an employee wishes to put forth any claim, or seeks redress of any

grievance or of any wrong done to him he must put forward his case through proper

channel and shall not forward advance copies of his application to any higher

authority, unless the lower authority has rejected the claim, or refused relief or the

disposal of the matter is delayed. No employee shall be signatory to any joint

representation addressed to the authorities for redress of any grievance or of any

other matter. An employee shall, regarding imposition of penalties for breach of any

of these rules, and regarding preference of appeals against any action taken against

him be governed by the rules made in this behalf from time to time by the Gujarat

Technological University or as per the provision of the Gujarat Affiliated Colleges

Services Tribunal Act 1982 so far as the employees of Chhotubhai Gopalbhai Patel

Institute of Technology are concerned. As far as redressal of student's grievance is

concerned it is also followed through proper channel. The aggrieved student may first

put forth their grievance in written, addressed to Head of the Institutions which is

usually forwarded through Head of the Department. First it is handled at class

counsellor level thereafter it is forwarded to HOI. In joint meeting with the concerned

student, class counsellor and HOI it is tried to redressal and minutes to this effect is

also prepared for record.

h) Establishment of Anti Ragging Committee

The institute has established anti-ragging committee based on the guidelines given by

the State Government and the Uka Tarsadia University also in accordance with UGC

regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher institutional regulation under

section 26 of the university grant commission 1926 as well as under the provision any

penal law for the time being in force. Ragging is strictly prohibited in UKA TARSADIA

UNIVERSITY and its constituent institutes, both inside and outside the campus and

anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging whether actively or passively,

or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished.

The University has constituted the following committees to take immediate and

stringent action against those found guilty in accordance with the UGC regulations.

i) Establishment of Online Grievance Redressal Mechanism

As per the University Grants Commission (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2012,

vide Notification No. F.No.144/2012(CPPII), (The Gazette of India, March 23-29,

2013), a Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted for Uka Tarsadia

University with the objective of preventing unfair practices and to provide a

mechanism to students, parents and others for redressal of their grievances. The

Grievance Redressal Committee will have a term of two years. Any aggrieved student

or person seeking redressal of grievance may make an application in the prescribed

Grievance Form, duly forwarded by the respective Director/HOD, to Mr. Gaurang

Vyas, UTU Office, Maliba Campus, Bardoli.

d) Criteria for waivers/scholarship

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS)

Under TFW scheme, students do not have to pay tuition fee (Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,00,000

approx) in SFI (Self Finance Institutes).

5% of total seats shall be filled by TFW scheme, e.g. If there are 60 seats in a particular

branch then only 3 out of 60 students are eligible to receive benefits of TFWS.

To avail the TFW Scheme, the student's parent's income should be less than 6

lakh/annum.

Also, TWFS is valid only if Admission is strictly on the basis of merit number through

ACPC.

TFW scheme shall be applicable for complete duration of the course i.e. 4 years.

To get the benefits of TFW Scheme, the candidate has to submit the income certificate

issued after 31st March from either 'Mamlatdar' or ''Taluka Development Officer (TDO)'

or 'Collector (Jan Seva Kendra)' at the time of application form filling (registration for

admission).

No other document shall be considered valid (e.g. Income tax return or Certificate issued

by 'Sarpanch').

Amount of Scholarship: 100% tuition fees.

MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swalamban Yojana)

Eligibility: Student must have secured 80 or more Percentile in 12th Science and family

income must be less than Rs. 6 lakh/annum.

Seats under management quota are surrendered to Admission Committee for

Professional Courses (ACPC). No applications have been invited for management quota.

11. Admission Procedure:

a) Mention the admission test being followed name and address of the test

agency and its URL

Students can gain admission in engineering college through the GUJ-CET or Gujarat

Common Entrance Test conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses

(ACPC). It supervises and controls the admission process for all the professional courses.

Since last year ACPC has been conducting online counselling for seats. GUJ-CET is open

only to the candidates who belong to Gujarat. The ACPC ensures that admission in the

government seats and management seats are made as per merit list prepared and no

student is admitted against the management seats unless his/her name appears in the

merit list. Once the candidates register online on a user-friendly portal:

www.gujacpc.nic.in and fill in the necessary details, a provisional merit number is allotted

with a specific date. A unique user-id and password is generated. The candidates are then

able to see the choices available to him/her as per the eligibility so that they can fill the

choice of their institute and preferred course and also set their priority. The choice of

participating in subsequent counselling rounds is also possible provided the candidate

gives a consent. The final allotment of seats and the applicable fee, information letter etc.

is all possible on the same portal.
