18 Counseling / Mentoring :

Section Counselors:

The College has implemented the concept of class teachers with certain relevant modifications. The need for this was felt when it was seen that the students face difficulties coping with the challenges of a professional course. Besides, many of the students have left their homes for the first time to pursue the course. To ensure that students do not feel lost in the new environment and to make them feel belonged, the concept of class counselors has been implemented only for the first year. The class counselor acts as a guide to the students of his/her section and solves any difficulty the student may face in the first year. The counselor is also a link between the student and other teachers, hostel in-charges & parents. Counselors hold individual and group counseling to build rapport with the students and encourage them to share their problems Branch Mentors:

Senior faculties of the branch are entrusted with the responsibility of mentoring students for their academic development (Paper presentation, Industry projects etc.). During the next three years, the mentors’ aim is to groom their protégées as global professionals. Mentors also share students’ performance with parents and involve them in the nurturing process.

Career Counseling : A separate Training & Placement department which provides career counseling, CRT & placement. We also





conduct career counseling program for higher studies such as CAT,GATE,GRE,TOEFL.

Medical facilities Every year Physical Fitness Checkup program is carried out for boys and girls. A visiting Doctor has been appointed for the same including for Boys and Girls Hostel.

Student Insurance All college Students are insured under “Student Safety Policy” through New India Assurance Company for accident coverage of Rs.2.0 Lacs.

19 Students Activity Body : Students Representative Council (SRC) as per University

norms is formed every year. The students’ representative brings forward suggestions, demands, expectations and views of the class before the respective counselor/HOD. Suggestions of students’ representative are discussed at the core committee meetings and where ever possible are implemented. A separate committee of students has been formed for the holistic development activities where in students plan, organize and execute various co-curricular / extra curricular programs

Cultural activities : Inter Department Competitions such as Dance, Singing, Skits, Instrumental music etc and such other competitions are being carried out through out the year. Every year Social Gathering is being conducted

Sports activities : College has sports grounds for facilitating different sports activities like Basketball, Volleyball, Football & Cricket. Similarly, we have indoor games facilities like Table tennis, Badminton, Carom & Chess. College has a well equipped Gymnasium with modern facilities in the hostel premises, which can be utilized by hostellers as well as day scholars. All the sports facilities are fully utilized by College students as well as hostel inmates. Various inter class sports events are conducted throughout the year, so as to build a healthy and competitive environment

Literary activities : Language Lab and Training for foreign languages are made available to the students on campus. We conduct inter- dept. debate, Essay, Quiz competition. College team has won the prizes in debate & quiz competition at University level

Magazine / Newsletter : Every year Magazines & News letters are published.





Technical activities / TechFest

: Since Last 4 years we are hosting state level Tech fest. Every year our students participate in Tech fest which is being conducted by IIT and VNIT.

Industrial Visits / Tours : For each semester, one industrial visit programme is carried out in branch relevant industries. Every year 1 week industrial tour is conducted for final year students.
