Meet Our Experts

Timothy J. Bono, PhD, received his BA and PhD in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, where he is currently an Assistant Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and Lecturer in the Department of Psychology. Tim's teaching and research focus on positive psychology and college student development. He is the recipient of the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence at Washington University and received the Outstanding Research Award from the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education. His research and ideas have been featured in several media outlets, including Fast Company and CNN. [email protected] Karen K. Daw, MBA, CECM, graduated from and worked at the Ohio State University as the Assistant Director for the Sterilization Monitoring Service and then as the Clinic Health and Safety Director for the College of Dentistry. She continued her education by earning an MBA with a focus on Management and Healthcare Administration. Karen offers regulatory compliance solutions for healthcare practices. She is committed to helping people rethink compliance—not as a mandatory activity but as a culture of safety. As a result of her work, healthcare professionals can more confidently meet regulatory standards, implement leaner processes, and create a safer work environment while decreasing costs. [email protected] Raj Gopalakrishnan, BDS, PhD, is Professor and Director of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. In addition to participating in the University Oral Pathology Laboratory, he has an active research lab investigating the role of bone morphogenetic proteins and twisted gastrulation in bone remodeling. Dr. Gopalakrishnan's other research interests include bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw and the molecular basis of oral carcinogenesis. [email protected] Arpit Nirkhiwale, BDS, MS, CAGS, FICOI, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics, Department of Restorative Sciences, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Nirkhiwale completed his prosthodontic residency at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry, in Gainesville, Florida. He also advanced his training with a one-year internship/fellowship program at the Department of Graduate Prosthodontics, University of Florida School of Advanced Dental Sciences. Dr. Nirkhiwale was awarded the Fellowship of the International Congress for Oral Implantologists and specializes in full mouth rehabilitation, implant prosthodontics, digital dentistry, and dental photography.
