The Mandan Progress Organization is once againspearheading Halloween fun by coordinating a TreatTrail among businesses on Oct. 30, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.Participating businesses are asked to welcomeyoungsters by providing them with Halloweengoodies. Last year there were 28 participatingbusinesses. Register here to be included in publicitymaterials.

Local Sales Tax Collections 6% AheadRevenue received by the City of Mandan from thelocal 1% sales tax is ahead of last year's as of Sept.15. Collections from the 1% restaurant and lodgingtax and the 2% hotel occupancy tax are also up.Click here to see these and other economicindicators.

Downtown Tour Attracts About 75About 75 people participated in a Sept. 28 tour ofdowntown Mandan. Most were area real estateprofessionals or representatives of sponsoringbusinesses such as financial institutions andaccounting firms. Attendees saw the park and libraryprojects, Main Street enhancements, plus fivebuildings or spaces available for purchase or lease.

They learned about Renaissance Zone and Storefront Improvement projects alongthe walk. Evaluations indicated improved impressions of downtown Mandan amongparticipants.

The tour is an activity of the Mandan Tomorrow - Economic Opportunity andProsperity Committee to highlight progress in downtown revitalization. The nextactivity is the Business Start-Up 101 Workshop the evening of Nov. 17.

Reach Nearly 16,000 Morton Residents With Calendar AdSixteen businesses have committed to placing ads in the 2022 Morton - Mandan

community calendar to be mailed in December to all Morton County addresses.There are 8 slots remaining for business card sized ads. Months with availability areJuly to December. Ads are $325 each. Learn more and submit your request.

Business NewsBismarck Motor Company is opening a Hyundaidealership at 805 E Main St and an auto detailcenter at 905 E Main St. The company plans toinvest about $3 million in propertyimprovements. Assistance through the Renaissance Zone, StorefrontImprovement and Bank of North Dakota Flex PACE interest buydownprograms are helping to offset some of the cost. The anticipated opening isspring 2022.Jamrock, a Jamaican restaurant, is now open Thursdays-Saturdays at 316 WMain St. The owner is Melissa Phillips-Adi.Memory Makers Old Time Photos & Gifts is opening Oct. 5 at 122 W Main St.

Business Reps Needed on Growth Fund,Other Committees, BoardsThe Mandan City Commission will considerappointments before year's end to 11 different boardsand committees that assist with city governance andcommunity development. Opportunities for serviceinclude the Growth Fund, Renaissance Zone,Beautification and Architectural Review boards. Apply by Oct. 29. Learn more.
