WORKING AT HEIGHT COURSESTAG’s core height safety awareness courses are for all those new to working at height, who need to access rooftops, work with ladders or scaffolding, or perform basic rescue from buildings and structures. They are designed to be informative and provide the delegate with a sound understanding of the issues associated with work at height and the fall protection systems involved.

Fall Protection Awareness & Practical (FP01)The course provides delegates with both the theoretical and practical skills required in order to use personal protective equipment (PPE), and to protect themselves from the hazards associated with working at height. Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 10

Roof Worker (RW01)This course is suitable for individuals with the skills to safely access rooftop sites and protect themselves from the hazards of working on flat and pitched rooftops using fall protection equipment and access ladders where required.Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 8

Basic Rescue Evacuation (RS01)Rescue of a person stranded at height where a simple vertical lower-off may not be possible. It includes the use of cableways and deviation techniques. Duration: 2 Days Class Size: Max 4

Ladder Access (PLA01)This course is to provide individuals with the necessary skills to erect extension ladders and position roof ladders. The course will provide the practical skills required to protect people when working at height from a ladder.Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 8

Radio Frequency Safety (RF01)Designed to provide delegates with the ability to recognize the known hazards associated with working in radio frequencyfields, particularly on rooftops and telecommunication towers.Duration: 1/2 Day Class Size: Max 12

PPE Inspection Course (SU02)Provides personnel with the necessary skills to inspect, care and dispose of fall protection equipment in line with the Personal Protective Equipment and Work at Height Regulations. Duration: 1/2 Day Class Size: Max 12

Emergency First Responder (EM01)Provides the basic essential skills of life support and emergency care. The course follows guidelines recommended by the Health & Safety Executive for appointed persons but with additional first aid skills specifically selected for the environment of working at height. Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 10

Antenna Rigger – Basic (CL04)Provides the practical skills required when first entering the telecommunications rigging industry. Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

Antenna Rigger – Advanced (CL05)This course builds on our basic Rigger course. The main objective of the course is to enable candidates to plan and supervise rigging operations, and manage teams of riggers or climbers. Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

ROPE ACCESS & TECHNICAL RESCUERope access is commonly used for maintenance and cleaning of buildings, inspections of roof spaces, bridges, silos or chimneys. TAG offers IRATA courses and BS 7985:2002 courses to train delegates in rope access techniques and ensure the client’s needs are fully met.

BS7985 Rope AccessFor those clients needing rope access qualifications without the structure of IRATA.

TAG Level 1 Technician (RT01)The course complies with BS 7985 and provides all the required skills for modern rope access operations on structures of any form. It includes single pitch working and rope changeovers (passing rebelays, deviations or moving between ropes). Duration: 3 Days Class Size: Max 4

TAG Level 2 Supervisor (RT02)Developed for persons who are required to supervise employees using industrial rope access techniques. and awkward locations. Duration: 3 Days Class Size: Max 4

Technical Rescue Level 1 Operative (TR01)Intended for those persons working in specialistrescue teams. It concentrates on all aspects of rescue and evacuation from height. Candidates are taught snatch, strop and stretcher rescues, basic and use of cableways and Tyrolean’s. Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

Technical Rescue Level 2 – Team Leader (TR02)As for Level 1 but focusing on the planning of rope rescues, and controlling a small group of Operatives. Candidates are instructed in decision-making under pressure, failure recovery and logistics. Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

Technical Rescue Level 3 – Supervisor (TR03)This course concentrates on hands-off supervision, planning and control of rope rescues. Candidates are instructed in decision-making under pressure. Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 4

IRATA QUALIFICATIONS Tag provides IRATA rope access technician training at our NTC in Saddleworth, from entry-level 1 to supervisor level 3. All courses are independently assessed and certified by IRATA examiners.

IRATA - Level 1 Rope Access Technician (IR01)The entry level into the IRATA framework, aimed at delegates with little or no previous experience. The course teaches a delegate to operate industrial rope access methods under supervision of a Level 3 technician.Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

IRATA - Level 2 Rope Access Technician (IR02)Building on Level 1 delegates will be trained in advanced rescue and rope access techniques. Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

IRATA - Level 3 Rope Access Technician (IR03)Level 3 technicians provide supervision and rescue cover for level 1 and 2 technicians, and delegates are trained so they appreciate the responsibilities attached to the role.Duration: 5 Days Class Size: Max 4

TAG’s Access All Areas program is designed specifically for the live entertainment, film and TV industries. Created by experienced riggers, the courses cover the full range of skills from basic height safety (ladders, MWP and unprotected edges) through rigger climbing, load lifting and rescue. Full Working Breathing Apparatus (CS02)This is a follow-on module dealing with the use of respiratory protective equipment (positive pressure breathing apparatus, both self-contained and hose-fed). Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 8

Multi-stage Vertical Access (CS03)Enables the delegate to work in multi-stage confined spaces with more than one vertical ladder or shaft required during entry, but limited horizontal features. The course includes the use winch, tripod climbing and lowering systems. Duration: 1 Day Class Size: Max 8

Traversing Confined Spaces (CS04)The traversing module builds on our two vertical access courses, and will enable access to almost every type of industrial confined space. It includes movement where the worker may be disconnected from the winch line. Duration: 2 Days Class Size: Max 6

Confined Space Rescue (CS05)Concentrating on the advanced rescue skills required to provide on-site cover for those working in confined spaces (of any type). It assumes previous qualification in entry and BA, and covers searching, advanced winching and hauling systems, operations in zero visibility, incident management and immediate-response risk assessment (IRRA).Duration: 3 Days Class Size: Max 6
