In 2004, skip bins put in place for waste management and disposal
Households had to contribute weekly towards maintaining these skip bins in the community
A 2005 survey showed: bins were used for household rubbish.

Types of waste: aluminum & tin cans; glass bottles and jars;
plastic bottles & bags and household organic waste
Very little knowledge on the effects of inappropriate waste
disposal on community health
