Urine Test, serum creatinine)
2. Prevent inflammatory, infectious and/or metabolic diseases that could contribute to kidney damage*
3. Treat dehydration aggressively with intravenous fluids†
4. Provide hemodynamic support with intravenous fluids during anesthesia
5. Use potentially nephrotoxic drugs judiciously and increase monitoring of animals that require therapy with these compounds

for Managing the Microalbuminuric Patient
Determine Microalbuminuria Trend
1. Monitor patient every 3 – 6 months (e.g., physical examination, urinalysis + Canine/Feline E.R.D.-HealthScreen® Urine Test, serum creatinine, blood pressure measurement)
2. Consider additional diagnostic procedures (e.g., thoracic and abdominal radiography, abdominal ultrasonography, serology for regionally prevalent infectious diseases, renal biopsy)
3. Options 2 through 5 from "Microalbuminuria Stable or Decreasing Recommendations"
4. Implement specific therapies reported to delay progression of renal disease such as prescription renal disease diet and ACE inhibitors
