The winners of the AIMAManaging India Awards 2019received their awards from the
chief guest of the evening, PranabMukherjee, Former President of India.
Pranab Mukherjee, while deliveringthe keynote address, congratulated allthe winners and mentioned that it istheir extraordinary commitmenttowards making India a better countrythat has made them a worthyrecipient of the award.
"We still need to put into placequality and affordable healthcareinfrastructure in every area, nook andcorner of the country. We need to putmore young people to work in orderto become a truly prosperous andproud nation. While India has made alot of progress on the quantitativeside, a lot of work is still needed onthe quality aspect," he said.
Before the distribution of awards,Harshavardhan Neotia, President,AIMA and Chairman, Ambuja NeotiaGroup, Harsh Pati Singhania, VicePresident, AIMA and Vice Chairman &Managing Director, JK Paper Ltd., andRekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA,addressed the gathering.
Azim H Premji, Chairman, WiproLtd., received the LifetimeContribution Award.
The Award for OutstandingInstitution Builder was received byPrathap C Reddy, Founder-Chairman,Apollo Hospitals Group.
The Corporate Citizen Award wasreceived by Devi Prasad Shetty,Chairman, Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd.
Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman &Managing Director, HindustanUnilever Ltd., was announced as theBusiness Leader of the Year.
Sanjiv Bajaj, Managing Director,Bajaj Finserv Ltd., was announced asthe Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Lifetime Contribution to Media
Award was received by MahendraMohan Gupta, Chairman & ManagingDirector, Jagran Prakashan Ltd. andEditorial Director, Dainik Jagran.
Rajkumar Hirani, director, producer,writer and editor, received theDirector of the Year for his movie'Sanju'.
The Outstanding PSU of the YearAward was received by Sanjiv Singh,Chairman, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Coca-Cola India was announced asthe MNC in India of the Year and TKrishnakumar, President India &Southwest Asia, Coca Cola, receivedthe award. The Indian MNC of theYear Award was received by PawanGoenka, Managing Director andMember of Group Executive Board,Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Theprogramme concluded with a vote ofthanks by Sanjay Kirloskar, Senior VicePresident, AIMA and Chairman &Managing Director, Kirloskar BrothersLtd.
