Maxine and Raymond had tried for severalyears to start a family but were unsuccessful. ButGod did bless them with a child, Lee, whom theyadopted right after he was born. Maxine said shefinished off the year working at the factory so shecould receive her bonus and then became a stayat home mom for their new baby.

As a family they really enjoyed going camp-ing, and visiting different places in Michigan andattending the Methodist Church. After her hus-band retired they did travel to Florida a few times. They also bought a home near Cadillac on LakeMitchell. She said they really enjoyed the time theyspent there on the lake going both boating andfishing. They enjoyed it so much that they even-tually made their “summer” home into their per-manent home.

Maxine’s family has now grown and she has2 grandchildren Jacob and Sam and 5 Great

Grandchildren. Maxine moved into Rail-
