HP TopTools for Desktops enables efficient and automatic asset and inventory management, finding and trackinghundreds of PCs over the network. Important details about PCs (serial number, user name, processor speed, hard diskdrive(s), memory, operating system, BIOS and driver versions, for example) can be collected and used for inventory orplanning purposes.

HP TopTools for Desktops also allows the system administrator to remotely manage multiple PCs—for instance, topower-on remotely, change security settings, or update system software such as BIOS, hardware diagnostics, or drivers.

It alerts system administrators when something goes wrong on a PC (such as disk drive failure or virus infection) toallow issues to be dealt with before they turn into problems, thus reducing downtime and data loss.
