“Mick also had a quieter, considered and spiritual side. Those who were privy to this had the privilege of wit-nessing his ability to capture an overview in one sen-tence and the gift of seeing and reproducing beauty viahis music or his other passion for photography.

The new site in Trident Park, War-wick, will accommodate 88 buses,140 drivers and 30 engineering andadministration staff.

It has six maintenance pits, electricvehicle charging bays for employeecars, intelligent heating, energy-effi-cient internal and external lighting, and harvests rain water.

The depot was built by Deeley Con-struction and was officially opened byNick Denton, traffic commissioner forthe West Midlands on Friday, 28thApril.

Stagecoach Midlands managingdirector, Steve Burd, said: “The new

facility has been built to high environ-mental standards and provides muchimproved engineering facilities.”

VAUXHALL Motors isintending to re-name theshade of its yellow Corsasto ‘Maddox Yellow’ in ashow of support for PeterMaddox, the 84-year-oldCotswold pensioner whohad his yellow VauxhallCorsa vandalised earlierthis year.

Mr Maddox hit theheadlines in 2015 after hehad been blamed forruining the view of thepicturesque village ofBibury for visitors byparking the car outside hiscottage. It was later van-dalised.

A convoy of 100 yellowcars from across thecountry drove throughBibury in April this yearas a show of support.

Denis Chick, director ofcommunications at Vaux-hall Motors, said: “Whenwe heard Peter’s story wewere inspired at the way itcaptured the heart of thepublic.

“We wanted to show

our support for Peter, whichis why we are intending torename our yellow shade to

‘Maddox Yellow’. We werein the car convoy to showour support, it’s for a great

cause and no doubt a funday for lovers of all yellowcars, including Vauxhalls.”

Peter said: “I was upsetwhen I found that my Vaux-hall Corsa car had been van-dalised just because of the

colour. I am touched by thesupport I have receivedsince. It’s great to see bothVauxhall Motors and thepublic supporting me andThe Butterfly Garden, acharity close to my heart.”
