This project includes updating about 6 miles of transmission line. About 5 miles of the line will be rebuilt in AEP Ohio’s existing right-of-way corridor; however, in some cases, easements may need to be supple- mented and updated. The remaining mile of transmission line will require construction in new areas. AEP Ohio requests input on the proposed study segments to determine a route for the new section of line. The existing transmission line was built in the 1930s and must be updated in order to meet the region’s growing demand for electricity. Updating the transmission line with modern equipment improves the electric service reliability, reduces the likelihood of extended power outages and speeds recovery time when outages do occur. The transmission line runs through Brown Township in Carroll County between Malvern and Minerva.
