On 9 October 2012, a taliban gunman shot
Malala Yousfzai as she rode home on a bus
after taking an exam in Pakistan’s swat
valley. Yousfzai was 15 years old at the time.
According to reports, a masked gunman
shouted ‘which one of you is Malala’
HOW WAS IT AT THE BEGINNING OF HER LIFE.• For the first few years of her life, her home town remained a popular tourist spot that was known for its summer festival.
• However, the area began to change as the Taliban tried to take control.

at a PODA event (2009) holding a pen in
her hand she demanded girls’ rights to
education . Now she is a famous politician,
countinuing her campaign for education.

HOW MANY SIBLINGS DOES MALALA HAVEMalala has 2 brothers, their names are Kushal, (14 years old) and Atal
(9 years old) and now Malala is 21 years old. Most people in Swat
had 7 or 8 children in their families but having 3 children was just fine
for the Yousfzai’s.
