2Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren,

give diligence to make your calling and

election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall

never fall:

Assembly or Church has reference to a group

of called out ones (ecclesia)

Calling has reference to origin, nature and

destiny of a heavenly invitation (klesis)

Election refers to a picking out, a selection,

used in Acts 9.15 of Saul of Tarsus as being the

choice of God. It is used 3 times in Romans 9

where the reference to the verse Jacob have Iloved and Esau have I hated is well known.

This group is designated by the fact that while the

finished work of Jesus Christ is sufficient, in thecase of the elect they are also responsible for and

capable of, having the will and power to choose.

There is no understanding the ways of God,and according to Romans 9.20, Shall thething formed say to him that formed it, Why

hast thou made me thus? My point in all this is that if you are here this

morning and have had more than oneopportunity to embrace the life of Jesus Christit puts you in a category of responsibility andcapability of choosing the right.

You must realize that there are people who

will receive one call from God, and those

whom God will not chase, and those whom

God has actually chosen against all odds and

against what nature mandates. This is the case

with Jacob and Esau, a prophetic type of the

election of God, the elder shall serve theyounger before the children were born.

Some have said that that is not fair or that

doesnt seem right, however God is sovereign

and his overriding characteristic is that He is

Just.

I would say that the majority of you in this

assembly fall into the elect status, which

brings great joy to me as one who has had thefavor of God in my life.

The responsibility is my part, the capability isGods part. I wouldnt choose me, but He haschosen me and then as I begin to choose and

make willful decisions Gods divine impartationjoins with my will in overcoming.

If I will begin to choose or will what is of Godthen I exercise my love for God and His will and

His ways. God wants us to choose Him. The etymology of the word choose is latin and

it refers to tasting

You have a mission and a destiny founded in

the establishing of the church. We must not

be high minded nor forget the natural

branches and their calling and election.

God is not finished with us yet, it is said that

it is better to experience failure and failing

that to succeed in the wrong thing. I donwant to miss the glory of God.

I want to spend some time in some areas ofchoosing that I feel are crucial to thisgeneration.

O taste and see that I am good For it is impossible for those who have

tasted of the power of God and who have

been enlightened to renew themselves againunto repentance, they must move into newconquest and territory for God.
