Making of Rum

The steps

Cane is crushed by a series of mills.

The boiler

Fibres remaining after extraction of juiceis used as fuel to feed the furnaces to heat water boilers and turned into steam.

The fermentation

A distillery has several fermentation tanks with a capacity of 30000 litres each.

The distillation

Introduced by the upper, wine descends tray shelf, by heating in contact with the vapour introduced by the bottom of the column.

The ageing
