fabric covered buttonse have been making the finest quality covered buttons for almost half a century and we are very proud of the Wreputation we have achieved over that time; we offer the greatest range of button styles and sizes, the quality of our buttons is unrivalled and we despatch button orders next working day!

A six inch (15cm) square of your fabric will make up to 10 buttons up to size 36'''. For larger button sizes send triple that amount. If you want covered backs we will also need fabric for that.

Our Special Cutting charge will apply where the buttons are to be made from a specific part of the fabric or where you only have tiny scraps of material. Please ensure that you use our button size guide to ensure you get the size you want and remember that buttons are sized in lignes (pronounced "lines"). We can work with any measurement units, e.g lignes, inches or millimetres but if you don't specify we will always assume you mean lignes...!

button sizes - this is important!!Button sizes are always in lignes - pronounced “lines” - e.g. 32''' or 32L is 32 lignes. 40’’’ = 1” = 25.4mm. Use the scale diagram below to choose your button size. N.B. differing fabric thicknesses means that this can never be an entirely precise measurement!

For the Haute Couture finish consider covered backs in either the same or a contrasting fabric.

extra layers of fabric10p extra per buttonTo make each button from more than one layer of fabric, e.g. chiffon over silk or lace over satin.

NB This is a new charge!

fabric beltsHarlequin has been in business since 1968 and we’ve learnt a lot since then about how the clothing industry works in the UK and abroad. Fashions come and fashions go but belts are always an essential item, such as when we make belts for many of the most distinguished designers in the industry and we are equally proud to offer our bespoke belt-making service to our retail customers; we will make you a superb belt from your fabric for just £12.

Fabric belts with a matching fabric buckle are £12 and are supplied with a belt-loop and five eyelets 1" apart, centre eyelet is to your waist measurement (taken over the garment). Extra eyelets are 60p each. For a double row of eyelets and extra prong add £5. We will choose the most appropriate eyelet colour unless you specify - see page 10.

You can supply your own buckle and we'll make you a belt for it at £10.50.

All our belts are stiffened to a natural dress weight but extra stiffening is available at £5. Fabric lining is £4 and top-stitching £4.

A curved belt or a piped belt is an extra £8 or a unique one-off belt made to your own design will cost £30.

Belts are supplied with a Cambrelle® backing but you can have a fabric back £6, or genuine leather or suede backing £15

Remember that the buckle size indicates the width of the belt that will attach to it!

7

solid buckle belt

For a "smoother" finish the solid buckle creates a less cluttered look and is a great way to highlight your amazing fabric. Available in 20mm or 35mm belt widths and with an adjustable clip-on fastening as shown in the picture.

£15

Fabric requirements are the same as a standard belt.

rouleau loops 60p

Loops plus matching covered buttons from as low as 70p

see page 3 for button sizes & pricesOrder loops & buttons as two separate products

Rouleau loops perfectly spaced and uniform length for a professional finish, supplied on a tape ready to sew into the seam. 30cm x 50cm makes 10 loops with buttons.

Spacings available are 11mm, 13mm, 16mm or multiples of those sizes. A “traditional” wedding dress typically has size 18 (11mm) highball buttons with the loops spaced at 13mm. This gives 2mm between each button for a “close-spaced” look.

If you have any queries ring us; we'll need the total length of the opening, size of buttons and spacing. If you are not ordering the buttons from us send a sample for sizing.

How do I order?l Cut out one of these order

slips for each item. (Loops & buttons is two items)

l Cut out a small piece of your fabric and staple it to the slip with the right side facing out.

l Pin the slip to the fabric.

l Fill in the order form - make sure we have your correct email address - then package it nicely!

l Order forms and order slips are on the website - or just use a sheet of paper - so long as we have all your details including email.

l Make sure you put enough stamps on!! Beware of Royal Mail's size pricing - an envelope containing any fabric will almost certainly require more than a first class stamp! Lots of our customers have been caught out like this even when they have sent the letter from a Post Office! If Royal Mail decide you have underpaid they will delay the package by around 3 weeks after which we then have to pay a penalty charge to retrieve it.

l Fabric is assumed to have zero value and scraps are binned. Returning scrap fabric is charged at £3.40 per order.

l Prices in this catalogue all include VAT at 20%.30
