Seamless integration

A Corian® sink can be integrated into a worktop in Corian®, without

visible seams, using an under-mounting technique. In functional

terms, this technique leaves no gaps where dirt or water can hide,

making the area hygienic and easy to clean. Visually, it creates

a perfect, continuous appearance. Using a similar technique, it is

also possible to integrate a Corian® sink into a worktop in Zodiaq®,

creating a highly distinctive aesthetic.

Integrating a double sink in Corian® Glacier White into a worktop in the same colour gives a unified, contemporary look.

What is Corian®?

Corian® is the original solid surface material manufactured by DuPont, used extensively worldwide both in the home and across many other environments. Composed of acrylic resin and a mineral filler, Corian® is supplied in sheets and shapes, and offers a wide range of performance and design benefits.

DurableSolid and non-porous, Corian® is stain- and chip-resistant. As colours and patterns run through the entire thickness of the material, if a scratch occurs, it can easily be sanded away and the surface restored to its original appearance.

Visibly seamlessCorian® is joined using a special adhesive to produce a visibly seamless look. This enables the creation of large island units and long worksurfaces, for example, that appear to have been made from a single piece of Corian®.

HygienicThe non-porous quality of Corian®, together with its special method of joining, makes it hygienic and easy to clean, since there are no traps where dirt can hide. Corian® is the only solid surface material (along with DuPontTM Zodiaq®) to be awarded certification by independent German organisation LGA QualiTest GmbH, in recognition of its high resistance to bacterial growth.

Long-lastingCorian® surfaces are renewable. Most damage – such as cigarette burns – can easily be removed using ordinary abrasive cleansers and a scouring pad, and the surface fully restored to its original appearance. More serious damage can be repaired on-site by a Quality Network Fabricator of Corian®.

Versatile by designCorian® can be routed, carved, sandblasted, moulded, thermoformed (bent when heat-treated), inlaid, or even printed to fulfil virtually any design vision. Available in around 100 colours, Corian® complements many other materials, such as wood, metal and stone, enabling it to fit in with a range of design styles.

TranslucentCorian® has a natural translucency, especially in lighter colours, and is often used by designers to create lamps and lighting. DuPont has recently introduced Corian® Ice White – a colour offering added translucency – specifically for use in lighting designs.

Environmentally soundNot only is Corian® durable and renewable, it can also be recycled by re-cutting and re-installing. Inert and non-toxic, with low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions, Corian® has minimal impact on indoor air quality. In recognition of this, Corian® was recently GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®.

Backed by WarrantyAll installations in Corian® are covered by a 10-year Installed Warranty, provided they are carried out by a Quality Network fabricator of Corian®.

What is Zodiaq®?

Zodiaq® is a decorative quartz-based solid surface material, used in a wide variety of horizontal and vertical applications. Zodiaq® is composed of 93% natural quartz, combined with polymer and natural pigments. The quartz crystals at its core give Zodiaq® a deep, inner radiance and a luxurious, highly distinctive aesthetic.

DurableWith its quartz composition, Zodiaq® is exceptionally tough, and therefore extremely resistant to scratches, chips, cracks or dulling. Colours and patterns run all the way through the material and cannot wear off. Since Zodiaq® is stain-resistant and does not require sealing, it is very easy to care for.

HygienicZodiaq® surfaces are non-porous, so bacteria and mould have nowhere to hide, making the material hygienic. Like Corian®, Zodiaq® has been awarded certifi cation by independent German organisation LGA QualiTest, having proved in tests to be highly resistant to bacterial growth.

Workable like stoneZodiaq® quartz surfaces can be fi t and cut, in the same way as any stone, to meet exacting requirements with precision, uniformity and consistency. Zodiaq® can be machined, sandblasted and inlaid. A wide variety of edge treatments can also be achieved.

ColourfulZodiaq® is offered in a range of 30 colours, including some not available in natural stone, such as vivid red, blue and green, and pure white. While most colours have a highly polished look, an alternative is offered in the form of Concrete Block – a collection of matt-fi nish colours in neutral tones inspired by urban architectural materials.

ConsistentZodiaq® offers consistency of structure and aesthetics, ensuring a coherent appearance throughout an installation. In addition, proprietary pigment-polymer technology from DuPont helps ensure uniformity of colours and tones.
