The Island Hospital Foundation supports Island Hospital’s vital

mission by raising much-needed funds for the benefit of community

health. Founded in 1979, the Foundation is an independent,

nonprofit corporation headed by a 21-member volunteer Board of

Directors. These dedicated civic and business leaders generously

donate their time, talents and energy to direct the Foundation’s

policies and secure its financial future.

Mission To raise funds to support Island

Hospital and its commitment to community health.

Vision Through community engagement,

we will sustain and support Island Hospital and

ongoing quality healthcare close to home.

Dear Friends,

It is my privilege to serve as President of the Island Hospital Foundation Board along with a group of committed community members who bring a range of valuable experience and skills. With assistance from an able professional staff and the hard work of dedicated volunteers, we hope to provide new levels of fundraising support to Island Hospital and its mission to deliver top-quality, compassionate, close-to-home healthcare in our community.

As a physician, I see first-hand the positive difference that contributions to the Island Hospital Foundation can make in the lives of patients and their families. We support programs that reach out to underserved members in our community, services that help keep seniors and others healthier longer, and purchase equipment and technologies to improve delivery of care while sustaining a healing environment. Island Hospital Foundation will continue to provide much-needed funding because of the generous philanthropic support from our community.

This year the Foundation’s theme is “Inspiring Hope”, which reminds us that as a community we all have a stake in Island Hospital’s promise of excellence in healthcare. For each of us, the future could hold a trip to the IH Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit, Diagnostic Imaging, or other departments within the hospital. That’s why efforts by the Foundation to help secure a sound future for our hospital are so important and so personal.

I join other members of the Board in inviting you to learn more about Island Hospital Foundation and its ongoing efforts to help fund new equipment, services and facilities at our Hospital.
