Cook'n for Katrina Cookbook Help support the relief efforts in New Orleans with a Cook'n for Katrina cookbook We have always loved entertaining. A large part has been cooking with family and friends. There is nothing better than everyone crowded in the kitchen creating a meal. After visiting Biloxi and New Orleans for Lutheran Church Charities we became very aware of the continued devastation a year and a half after Katrina hit. What we saw weighed heavy on our hearts. We knew we wanted do something that would tell the people of the area they are not forgotten. So we did what we knew best: enlisted our family, friends and extended Curves family for support and recipes. They all came through. Here is your chance to help and enjoy recipes from the heart!

HeartSong Outreach Ministry in Need of Car for Single Mother of Two Teenagers Request from Pastor Mark Schultz, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisle: Trinity has been ministering to this family at HeartSong, the multi-site campus of Trinity. To make a pretty long story short, the mother has been worshipping regularly at HeartSong and has joined one of our home based small groups. She is in the process of rebuilding her life after battling depression as a result of the sudden loss of her husband

eighteen months ago. Because of the untreated depression, she wound up losing her home and her car. She is now doing much better, has found an apartment for herself and two daughters, and has just secured a job at Sam's Club. Our church is helping her with the first few months rent so that she can get back on her feet again. She has to rely on finding rides to work and is in need of a car. If anyone has a car to donate to this family it would be a true answer to prayer. Please contact LCC at (866) 455-6466 if you have a car to donate for this or any other need.

Items Free for the Asking - New This Week Organ Available to a Ministry

Hammond H-111 organ. The organ was purchased in 1969 and is with the original owner. It is large and weighs 400-450 lbs. It's in very good cosmetic condition. As it hasn't been played for a number of years it could use routine maintenance, otherwise, it's in working condition. In addition to the organ itself, there is a Leslie sound box, music and instruction books and a complete set of new electrical tubes. All of the tubes that are in the organ are working now.
