N Make your Home Smart with the Newest FIBARO Technology CES 2013: Fibaro, for the first time in the US, showcases its smart home system Las Vegas/Poznań, 8 January 2013 – Save energy costs, increase your comfort and improve the safety of your household: smart home technologies provide numerous benefits. The way in which a smart home can operate and be controlled will be demonstrated by home control system specialist Fibaro (www.fibaro.com/en) at the Las Vegas CES exhibition from January 8th through the 11th at stand 20800 South Hall 1. With the Fibaro system, apartments and houses can be fitted retrospectively without the need for major conversion work, simply by using wireless home control technology. Fibaro will be presenting, among other products, the Home Center 2 (HC2), which comprises the brains of the smart home system, including its unique wall plug with energy measurement option, and the newest door window sensor. The CES exposition demonstration will be the unveiling of the FIBARO system in the US market, and will mark the inauguration of Fibaro’s US sales. The Fibaro solution uses the Z-‐wave wireless standard. It allows users to integrate all Z-‐wave-‐compatible products and devices that hitherto could not be wirelessly networked in a customized home network. The Fibaro smart home system allows the conversion of any home or apartment into smart lodgings, which not only increases occupants’ comfort, but also allows users to take care of their household safety and efficiently. The system incorporates the Home Center 2 "base station", various sensors for temperature, motion and smoke, as well as dimmer options, roller blind actuators, and recessed switch modules. New in the portfolio are wall plug and door window sensors. The wall plug is a universal switch in the form of an adapter in the wall socket compatible with the Z-‐Wave standard. It allows users to control any device with a power up to 3 kW and has an integrated measurement of energy and active power consumption. The device has a built-‐in LED, signaling the operating status and the level of current energy use. The FIBARO Plug is the smallest device of this type in the world. The Door Window sensor allows for automatic light control, access control and property protection systems. Moreover, the sensor eliminates the risk of high fees for heating or air conditioning. In addition, the module can be equipped with a temperature sensor, and uses the built-‐in binary input. Invisible, Non-‐Invasive Installation In order to incorporate any non-‐wireless networked device in the Fibaro network, the user mounts the desired recessed module for dimming or switching in the existing recessed sockets. The extremely small and flat construction means that the modules fit in all conventional sockets. This allows the smart home network to be expanded and equipped almost invisibly. The network is controlled via the HC2 base station, which facilitates full control of lighting, heating and air conditioning systems, shutters, alarm systems, garage doors and audio and video equipment.. To enable this network, the gateway communicates with sensors and components throughout the house. The integrated Z-‐wave interface module also allows the user to control all compatible

N devices from a PC or laptop. Synergy Effect The user can also configure "scenarios" to link the actions of various devices with one another. The system could, for example, close the windows automatically and switch off garden sprinklers as soon as the sensors register rain. The user can also set timed dependencies, for example to heat the home efficiently. The central interface also enables equipment in houses or apartments to be controlled while users are away from home, as the Fibaro system can also be installed on mobile devices. Using mobile apps, smartphone owners can, for example, close windows, switch off lights or lower roller blinds after having left home. Launch in the US Market The CES event is the unveiling of FIBARO products in the US market. It is also the official launch for sales of the devices within the American market. Fibaro is a European company, which, over the course of two years, completely changed the smart home sector in Europe. The solution is being distributed in 45 countries worldwide, including New Zeeland and Australia. At CES Las Vegas, a specialist exhibition for consumer electronics, Fibaro's experts will be demonstrating the detailed functionality of system elements and will be available to answer questions from trade visitors. Fibaro will be presented at the joined Z-‐wave alliance booth in South Hall 1 at stand 20800. Further information is available at www.fibaro.com/en
