MAKE JEHOVAH YOUR CONFIDENCE

I imagine a plane flying into difficult weather condition, Pilot can no longer make out landmarks thick cloud envelop him , he cannot see beyond his windscreen –Can the pilot landed safely?

He feel sure that he can complete his journey safely – because he had been trained of how to fly plane, flying time and totally depend on his instrument and ground control.

In a comparable way the world condition get gloomier day by day, just has Jesus Christ foretold that these critical times--- will signifies the beginning of pangs of distress before great tribulation which the whole world had not experienced.

Due to the impact of this prophesy on world, we may be thinking that our journey through this system of things is taking longer than some expected. However, we can be confidence that we are on a right course on time.

Just like a pilot using instrument of light to see beyond dark cloud, the psalmist says --- God’s Word is a Light to my roadway;

Book of Proverb chapter 3 vs. 1 – 26 show us how to make Jehovah our confidence in this turbulent times, please may we all keep that Bible potion open for reference.

Despite been trained and instrument within his care, for a pilot to landed safely he must adhere to Instructions. What must all do to gain confidence in these turbulent times? Proverbs chap 3 vs. 1 – 3. Read.

3) 1.My son, my law do not forget, and my commandments may your heart observe, 2 because length of days and years of life and peace will be added to you. 3 May loving-kindness and trueness themselves not leave you. Tie them about your throat. Write them upon the tablet of your heart, 4 and so find favour and good insight in the

eyes of God and of earthling man.

All must listen to Jehovah Our father, inculcate His law in our heart , through studying of God’s word and by speaking about Jehovah’s law, that will become a part of us.

Children, Youth do you listen to your parent? Parent do you adhere and obey Jehovah? Note vs. 2 shows that, Jehovah determine whether we lives forever or pass away with this system of things

Do you apply Jehovah’s instructions? We cannot sit on the fence, it is evidence that those who apply Jehovah’s word are free from strife, backbiting, jealousy, hatred, pride, and have peace.

VS 4 – 8.Trust Jehovah & Not Lean upon your own Understanding

5 Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. 6 In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.

7 Do not become wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and turn away from bad. 8 May it become a healing to your navel, and refreshment to your bones, ---What does it mean to trust in Jehovah? Trust in Jehovah involves-

1) pondering over what Jehovah says, 2) obey his commandment and3) Live by it principle.

Let pause a moment, think that time you face a turbulent situation so to speak, or the one you might be undergoing presently, whose consent do you seek?

Do you considered Jehovah views and draw encouragement from His word, or Put your Trust in noble men promises? --- Psalm 146 vs. 3 -4 Jehovah warn us do not put you trust in Noble men, rather we follow example of Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul who were rescue from sentenced of death by Jehovah.Just like control man on ground @ airport, directing the pilot for safe landing, Jehovah has an earthly Organisation that direct His Asset to survive turbulent times.

Here is a Question to Us all; do you trust Jehovah’s Organisation direction through his appointed Overseers? The answering is low.

Considered this illustration of a couple, husband is a Doctor while Wife is a pharmacist –with a big pharmaceutical store ---

They have only one child-- who was seriously sick to the point of death-- Brothers and Sister should this couple panic or worried about what medicine to use for their sick child? No! because Doctor Prescribe while Pharmacist produced, but to a shock the child dies --- simply because parent are arguing on drugs to be given to the child, who is to be blame?

You and I are just like Husband and Wife--- who had fast knowledge on drug –that is, Bible Knowledge. Our child is our relationship with Jehovah let scrutinized ourselves. do I or you argue or pit your own understanding of things, events, arrangements, against Jehovah’s direction through his word and Organization? Will you sacrifice your only child – Relationship with Jehovah - as exchange for pleasure?

Definitely not, all those that make Jehovah God their confidence acknowledge Him, doing what He says, following his ways and recognizing Jehovah’s authority and sovereignty even in private matters such as grooms, dressing and marrying only in the lord, Jehovah knows the Best and we must learn to trust him, certainly, those who Trust Jehovah have Success

Page 3: Make Jehovah Your Confidence r

Few have consulted God’s word, they preferred their own option, that is why many religions exist today because, people have insisted to lean upon their own understanding.

For Us not to fall in the same pit, we should not think more of ourselves than necessary-- by means of personal ideals and theories, doing so can make us get off on a tangent.

We want to avoid being overcritical, picking at brothers/sisters or congregation rather we want to keep on advancing in accurate knowledge but DO NOT ALLOW PRIDE, fear, or Jealousy to motivate us.

Vs 9 -12 Honour Jehovah with your best & Accept Discipline

9 Honour Jehovah with your valuable things and with the first fruits of all your produce. 10 Then your stores of supply will be filled with plenty; and with new wine, your own press vats will overflow.

11 The discipline of Jehovah, O my son, do not reject; and do not abhor his reproof, 12 because the one whom Jehovah loves he reproves, even as a father does a son in whom he finds pleasure

-- Israelites were to bring their best to Jehovah.

so likewise Christian today, we honour/ Glorify Jehovah by supporting Jehovah Organization, contributing to kingdom hall, assisting the society’s headquarters, branches as well as the global missionary work: and being active in preaching kingdom message.

Are we giving our best to honour Jehovah? (2 Corinthians 9:6, 7) He that sows sparingly will reap sparingly bountifully will reap bountifully. Remember God loves cheerful giver.

It is unwise on a part of man stalling an expensive things in a dilapidated house, those asset will be of no benefit to us , ‘on the day of fury’ why not used it to assist the weak and brothers in need? When we Use them for the good of others then our store filled with very spiritual riches--- joy and security.

Parent we discipline our children if they adamantly disobey is it not. do you punished or beat your children because you hate them? Who will now discipline us when we reject Jehovah’s direction? Proverb 3 vs. 10, in conjunction with Heb 12 vs. 8

8But if YOU are without the discipline of which all have become partakers, YOU are illegitimate children, and not sons. If your friend detects that, there is soapy foam in your ear after bathe and tell you, even kindly using his /her handkerchief to help you remove it before going out what will you do or say to that friend?

Instead of grudging, we need to be thankful that the matter called to your notice, which shows that someone is interested in you to see you straight, so that we will not dance to the beat of shame outside.

Page 4: Make Jehovah Your Confidence r

So easy, is that what you are thinking now? Truly, no discipline seems for the present to be joyous, but grievous; yet afterward to those who have been trained by it yields peaceable fruit, namely, righteousness.

Do not be offended, when discipline comes from a mature Brother, sometimes it might be through reading the Bible, or Watchtower,

Instead of pointing to or twisting bible to suite your opinion, view the instruction not as arbitrary rules but as evidence of Jehovah loving interest, recognize His authority and make changes, never!! Fallout from truth over some adjustment in understanding.

Proverb 3 vs 13-18 Value of Godly Wisdom

13 Happy is the man that has found wisdom, and the man that gets discernment, 14 for having it as gain is better than having silver as gain and having it as produce than gold itself. 15 It is more precious than corals, and not all other delights of yours cannot be made equal to it. 16 Length of days is in its right hand; in its left hand, there are riches and glory. 17 Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its roadways are peace. 18 It is a tree of life to those taking hold of it, and those keeping fast hold of it are to be called happy.

In describing wisdom, Proverbs 3:13-18 highlights happiness. Is happiness not a treasure that all of us desire?

But only Godly wisdom will give us this happiness because true happiness comes only from its Source, Jehovah God.

Experience has proved that true happiness cannot be attained apart from obedience to the Most High and yielding to the operation of his spirit. The happiness promised in the Bible depend on our proper relationship, or approved standing, with our heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:3-10) Therefore, by applying what we learn from study of the Bible, we will be displaying “the wisdom from above” that will give us the happiness that all the riches in the world cannot procure.

Recall also, though, that Proverbs 3:16 states: “Length of days is in its right hand.” This is understood to refer to the right hand of protection, the hand that is ready to help and safeguard a person at critical times. Today many engage in loose living, sexual immorality, drug abuse, and alcohol.

From what you have observed, are people who practice those things truly happy? On the other hand, do they bring upon themselves and others much sorrow and pain, even death?

Little wonder while on field service people said you Jehovah witnesses have no problem at all oo.

What help us is, -- the application of the wise counsel from God’s Word d@ always be at our “right hand” to protecting us from dangers. Therefore, wisdom can lengthen our life, guarding us from a course that would lead to a premature death. Thus, godly wisdom is certain to make our present life a more pleasant one.

Page 5: Make Jehovah Your Confidence r

Why is it that godly wisdom more precious than corals and all other delights of riches cannot even, be made equal to it?

The valuable things of the rich are his strong town, and they are like a protective wall in his imagination.” (Proverbs 18:11) Yes, the security that riches can provide is sheer imagination, a deception.

It is not that the material things in themselves are bad, what is wrong is the cantering of our lives around them rather than on gaining God’s approval.

Jesus, who is recognized as one of history’s wisest teachers, pointedly said: “Even when a person has abundance his life does not result from the things he possesses.”—Luke 12:15.

So let us pursue a course in life that will make us “rich toward God.” (Luke 12:21) Nothing is more valuable than an approved standing with the Creator. All efforts to maintain it contribute to our ‘treasuring up for ourselves a fine foundation for the future, in order that we may get a firm hold on the real life.’—1Timothy 6:19.

He learn carpentry work for more than 5 years but he doesn’t know how to measure cut plank, even join two plank together, is the year of his apprenticeship not in vain?

In contrast, we have been listening, acquiring wisdom and discernment, are we ready to put knowledge to work? When we are humble we will willingly applied what we have learned.

Is there any benefit or Blessing if we make Jehovah our confidence?

Jehovah himself in wisdom founded the earth. He solidly fixed the heavens in discernment. 20 By his knowledge the watery deeps themselves were split apart, and the cloudy skies keep dripping down light rain.

21 My son, may they not get away from your eyes. Safeguard practical wisdom and thinking ability, 22 and they will prove to be life to your soul and charm to your throat. 23 In that case you will walk in security on your way, and even your foot will not strike against anything.

24 Whenever you lie down you will feel no dread; and you will certainly lie down, and your sleep must be pleasurable. 25 You will not need to be afraid of any sudden dreadful thing, nor of the storm upon the wicked ones, because it is coming. 26 For Jehovah himself will prove to be, in effect, your confidence, and he will certainly keep your foot against capture.

This correspond to psalm 91 vs. 1 and 5

Anyone dwelling in the secret place of the Most High Will procure himself lodging under the very shadow of the Almighty One.

You will not be afraid of anything dreadful by night,Nor of the arrow that flies by day

Page 6: Make Jehovah Your Confidence r

As we Jehovah’s witnesses face the coming great tribulation on the wicked, we find encouragement in these word ‘YOU WILL NOT BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING’

Although we do not expect protection from all physical harm, just as Jeremiah was not protected from physical assault, Individual may suffer, even to the point of death just as Apostle James was martyred but Jehovah will protect us as a class or Organization and all of us have confidence that, Jehovah will not & never forget us, He will surely resurrect us.

Will you continue to make Jehovah Your Confidence? Jehovah is entreating all of us to 1) Rely on His unfailing Promises and

2) Serve HIM with Humility and Joy.

For what purpose Jehovah entreats us.

PROVERB CHPTER 2 VS. 20 – 22 let read it together please,

The purpose is that you may walk in the way of good people and that the paths of the

righteous ones you may keep. 21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.
