  • 14

    31. Before setting up your pool structure, it is important to understand the definition of a pool and how the Drug Testing Program uses pools. A “Pool” is basically a specific group of personnel. Normally a pool is simply an organization such as, a battalion, a squadron, or a detachment etc. Some organizations using the DTP program may want to maintain different testing groups, for example, a reserve unit which contains both active duty and reserve personnel. In this case the concept of a pool can be expanded to include an Active Personnel Pool and a Reserve Personnel Pool. Pools can be very flexible depending upon a service’s requirements and needs. Click on “Global” to enter your unit/group name. After you have entered all of your unit information, click on the RED DOOR to save the information.

BAC/UIC – the designation is dependent on your service branch and policies.

Per Month Testing Info is determined by the system parameters setting earlier. This setting shows ONE test during the current month, and the target probability of 10% that a member will be selected. This is similar to the actual percentage of a group being selected, but with this setting, the actual selection may be somewhat higher or lower than the actual percentage. If COUNT was selected, then enter the desired number of personnel to be selected.

Block ONE should be your unit’s physical address, i.e. a FEDEX address

Block TWO should be the contact person for the DTP and a phone number for them.

  • 16

    34. Navigate to your roster file, select it, and click “Open”

    35. Select the correct pool, and click “Next”
