When The Overland Trails started in 1849

What The Oregon trail was 2,000 miles long The Santa Fe trail was 900 miles long The California trail was 2,000 miles long

Why The trails made it easier for people to

settle out west.

Mail People used them a lot to carry mail to

the west side of the country.

War During the Civil War the army moved

there soldiers from bases to patrol along the trails.

When The stage line operated till 1869 until the

First Continental Rail Road was created.
