“The IET IoT Panel was established in 2015. Within a span of one year, our desire to bring the fragmented ecosystem together was so strong and we were driven by our mission to educate people about the Internet of Things, which was the need of the hour in 2016. In 2017, our whole agenda focused on how businesses could tap the potential of IoT – hence we themed it as ‘Demonstrating business opportunities through IoT’. My keynote address was titled ‘Making Money in the Internet of Things’. In our 3rd edition in 2018, IoT had fairly matured.

We had established ourselves as the Platform of Platforms for Internet of Things and were now the most sought after conference in the region. Over 40% of our entire attendee base included decision makers. Our discussions became centred around ‘What’s next?’. We debated used cases on what could be done to take IoT to the next level in India. We are in our fourth edition this year and are focusing on ‘Mainstreaming the Internet of Things’.

We want to announce that IoT is Business As Usual and will be a significant driver of competitive advantage. You can see all of this in action on the 22nd and 23rd of August in Bengaluru! I welcome all of you to the Platform of Platform for the Internet of Things.”

Dr Rishi Bhatnagar, Chairman – IET IoT Panel & IoT India CongressPresident, Aeris Communications

“IoT India Congress is a testimonial to what a team of motivated and empowered engineering volunteers on a mission could do together. In 4 years the IET IoT Panel has progressed well in its mission of being a catalyst in evolving the movement of IoT in India and the IoT Congress is a physical manifestation of that mission.

Over the years we have consciously created a Platform of Platforms that is neutral and credible. We’ve had 3 successful editions of the IoT India Congress and the 4th edition is shaping up nicely. I am positive that with the enthusiasm of our panel members and the direction that we are receiving from multiple stakeholders in the ecosystem as well as the government, we are well on target to become the most important event for digital technology stakeholders in the region.

Our focus theme for this year is ‘Mainstreaming the Internet of Things’ and it is indeed timely, given the overall direction of Government of India. We believe that our role here is to discuss the future - firmly grounded on experiences of the past and learnings from implementing IoT in our regions.

We are working to be able to provide all attendee groups –start-ups, CXOs, academicians, students, government- with key take-aways that could be readily applied to their area of work. I look forward to welcoming all of you on the 22-23 August, 2019 at the 4th edition of IoT India Congress in Bengaluru.”

One of the most important technologies that will connect all sectors will be the Internet of Things (IoT). With 1.9bn devices expected to be connected in India alone, by 2025, IoT and related technologies assume relevance of significant proportions. Across sectors we will see energy, power grids, vehicles, homes, entire cities and manufacturing floors, computers and mobile devices being connected.

Relatively nascent nature of the phenomenon brings with it various challenges like technology silos, protocol multiplicity, security and social dynamics which makes a clear case for collaborative approach in implementation.

IoT business is expected to grow at a CAGR* of 28% over next five years. Discover how you can benefit.

IET India volunteers designed and conceptualized a think tank called the IET IoT Panel in 2015 with representation from leaders in the Internet of Things industry. The panel was formed with the objective of being a neutral and credible voice to evangelise the Internet of Things in India and help accelerate the adoption of IoT. One of the outcomes of the year-long work of the panel is our flagship event called the IoT India Congress. Over the last 3 editions, this event has grown into the Platform of Platforms for the Internet of Things as well as the region’s most important confluence of digital tech stakeholders ranging

from Policy makers & Bureaucrats, Large Enterprises, SMEs and Start-ups, Academia.

IoT India Congress 2019 is the 4th edition of India’s largest Platform of Platforms for the Internet of Things. While our first edition was devoted to unifying the fragmented IoT ecosystem and building the Platform of Platforms for the Internet of Things, the second edition focused on exploiting this platform for unravelling business outcomes and demonstrating business opportunities. Over the 3 editions, the event has gained significant momentum and engagement with

key ministries of the Government of India. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Department of Telecommunications, NITI Ayog – India’s apex planning body of India have all supported this event.

Our conference theme for this year is Mainstreaming the Internet of Things. Through this we aim to get the audience to come to a consensus that IoT is now Business as Usual and a significant driver of businesses and industries.

We’re set for a bigger and more successful edition.
