service providers
Identifying barriers to broadband use by households and businesses
Data & Methods (municipality-level analysis)
Data from ConnectME mapping project on percentage of municipality with access to broadband via DSL, cable, fixed wireless, etc.
Data from FCC (form 477) on number of residential fixed high speed connections per 1,000 households
Examine association with municipality-level characteristics such as population density, household and business characteristics, presence of community anchor institutions, etc.
Data & Methods (household- and business-level analysis)
Data from current project on type of Internet connection used by household (or business); e.g., dial-up, DSL, cable, etc.
Examine association with household (or business) characteristics from survey, industry and town-level characteristics
Modeling Summary
Goal is to integrate economic analysis with mapping project, current data collection efforts, and overall objectives of ConnectME
