JOHN HUMPHREY, CG,a Pennsylvania native, is past-president of the Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society (MAGS) and past vice president of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania (GSP). He is former director of the National Genealogical Society (NGS) Learning Center and has authored numerous books and articles. During his career as a professional genealogist, he has organized and managed several national, state, and local genealogical societies. He lectures throughout the United States and has lectured in Germany. In 2011, he will be the instructor for the German track at Samford University’s Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR).

ELISSA SCALISE POWELL, CG, is a Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) trustee, the Professional Genealogy course coordinator at Samford University’s Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), and an instructor in the Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate program (both on campus and online) and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG). She was an Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) Director and co-editor of cemetery recording books. Elissa is a western Pennsylvania researcher and lectures on methodology, Pennsylvania records and professional development.

CG and Certified Genealogist are Service Marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, used under license by board certificants after periodic evaluations by the Board.
