  • MAIN ENGINE SAFETY SYSTEMTHE ME SAFETY SYSTEM IS DESIGNED FOR PROTECTING THE DIESEL ENGINE AGAINST BREAKDOWN UNDER CONDITIONS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE OF NORMAL OPERATION.

    THE SYSTEM CONSIST OF TWO INDEPENDENT SUB SYSTEMS :

    SLOWDOWN SYSTEM - PROVIDES LOAD SHEDDING FOR A TWO-STROKE REVERSIBLE ENGINE WITH OUTPUT TO A FIXED PITCH PROPELLER,BY REDUCING ENGINE RPM.STUTDOWN SYSTEM - STOPS THE ENGINE BY CUTTING-OFF THE FUEL SUPPLY.IT OPERATES AFTER A TIME DELAY OF 10 SECS.

    AFTER ACTUATION OF THE SYSTEM THE SAFETY RESET BUTTON MUST BE PRESSED TO UNLOCK.
