1 Percentage of courses where major syllabus restructuring was carried

out during last 3 years

Basically the University offers its academic programmes in two major

areas of medical stream and technical stream of higher education.

In the case of the programmes of technical stream, major syllabus

restructuring has been carried out in 65.4% of Programmes during the

last three years. However, so far as the programmes of medical stream

are concerned, the University is required to follow the curriculum as

prescribed by the respective Regulating Councils of MCI, DCI, INC, etc.

from time to time on account of which there is not enough scope of

restructuring the syllabus of the programmes of medical stream at the

level of the University.

2 Temporal Plan in more than 50% of programmes

(CBCS/Semester/ Annual)

In 60.5% of the Programmes offered by the University Credit Based

Semester System is followed. However, in the case of the remaining

Programmes of medical stream, annual system is followed as per norms

of the respective Regulating Councils.

3 Percentage of teachers with Ph.D. qualification General Courses

Professional courses (For ex. MD/ DM for medicine and ME/MS for

engineering)

The Status of educational qualifications attained by the faculty of the

12 Output of M.Phil & Ph.D. per faculty

On an average, output of eligible faculty members for M.Phil/Ph.D is 1.56

per teacher for MD/MS/MDS courses, this output is 3.76 per teacher and

for M.Tech./M.Pharma/M.Sc. (Nursing.) courses, the same is 3.86 per teacher in the University.

13 Revenue generated from consultancy per year

During the last Five years, the University has earned consultancy to the

tune of Rs.1,76,18,952/- which on an average comes to Rs.39,15,322/- per annum.

The University is fast moving towards achieving excellence in research

and as a part of the twin objective of accelerating the academic and

of the Faculty of this University.

The University maintains two Central Libraries, one for the

institutions of medical stream and the other for the institutions of

technical stream.

While the ratio of total Books (Volumes) in the Central Library of

Technical Streams per student is 26:1, ratio of Book titles per student

is 5:1. Thus the overall combined ratio of total Books (Volume) per

student comes to 22.1 and the overall combined ratio of Book title

per student comes to 4.24.

The above details do not include the Books available in Book Bank

of the University.

The total budget allocation of the Financial year 2014-15 for the

University Library is Rs.195.00 lac out of which an estimated of 56.4%

of the total allocation has been spent on purchase of journals (national and

international) and other Library resources.

The University has the following distinctions to its credit:

The IQAC is operational in the University since 2007.

The University and its Institutes were initially visited by the Peer

Team of NAAC in April 2010. However, the accreditation status

attained by the University has not been declared as yet.

Besides being ISO 9001: 2008 Certified by Joint Accreditation


System of Australia – New Zealand, it is also accredited by

ASIC, UK, as a premier Institution.

Prior to the visit of the Peer Team of NAAC to the University in

April 2010, the MM Institute of Management and the MM

Engineering College had also been accredited for some of their

specific courses by the NBA of AICTE.

MM University Trust has also been recognised by the Department

of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) as Scientific and

Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO).

While the University has also been accredited by Tata

Consultancy Services (TCS), the matter of accreditation by the

WIPRO and Tech Mahindra is under process.

Mr. Deepanshu Narula, a student of BA LL.B. (5 Yr.) course, has

participated in International Hockey Match between India v/s

Bangladesh held in June, 2008 at Dhaka and won a Gold Medal.

Mr. Deepanshu Narula, a students of B.A. LL.B. (5 Yr.) also participated

in All India Rollar Skating Championship held at Mussorie and won

three Gold.

Mr. Deepanshu Narula, a students of B.A. LL.B. (5 Yr.) also participated

in 6th Senior National Roll Ball Skatting Champioship held on 17-19

April 2008 Championship held at Pune and won one Gold Medal.

Mr. Sandeep Rana, student of LL.B.- I Sem. - participated in State Level

Ten Pin Bolling in Haryana Olympics held at Sonipat in Nov. 2008 and

won a Bronze Medal.

Mr. Sandeep Rana, a students of B.A. LL.B. (5 Yr.) also participated in

XXII Haryana State Games, held at DBCR University of Engineering &

Technology, Murthal Sonepat on 22-27 November 2008 and won the 3rd

place in Ten Pin Bowling.

Mr. Ankit Malhotra, MCA Batch 2011–14 developed an Android

based application “FM Radio India All Station” and signed an

agreement with Intel Corporation to introduce this App in Samsung

Galaxy-3 Tablet. He is currently working with Infosys at

Chandigarh.

Our Engineering students are amongst the students of 63 Universities of

the world with only three Indian Universities to participate in SAE AERO

DESIGN aircraft design competition held in LOS ANGELES (USA) in

March 2012 where “NASA” of US participated for judging the competition,

alongwith world’s famous aircraft manufacturing companies such

BOEING & LOCKHEED MARTIN was among the judging team and

won NASA SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AWARD. – Team 325 (March

2013).

NASA SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AWARD. – Team 216 – Maharishi

Markandeshwar University by NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission

Directorate (US) in partnership with SAE International (March 2012).


Our Engineering students made a model IC Engine care which runs on

Nitro fuel having a top speed of 90 Km/hr and they achieved all India 1st

rank in Nitro car race competition held at IIT Madras and also achieved

2nd rank in the same event held at PEC Chandigarh. - Our students made an

ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) which is a prototype for SAE South Africa

competition held in February 2012 in Pune.

Awarded FIRST PRIZE in ASME-Students Design Competition in

Kshitij 2010 at IIT, Kharagpur.

Our Mechanical Engineering students made BAJA vehicle (Simulation

based) and in 2010 they achieved all Asia 50th rank in SAE BAJA

Bangalore competition and the best self-engineered vehicle design

competition.

Group of Mechatronics Engineering students in 2010 made fully

automated bottle filling, capping & packaging machine with the

application of most advanced technology used in industrial automation

nowadays

Mr. Rohit Gupta and Mr. Gaurav Mendiratta won First Prize at the

competition organised by American Society for Mechanical Engineering

at IIT Kharagpur in Feb-2010 for their innovation in designing:

Automatice waste Sorter.

Mr. Rahut Katiyar and Mr. Mandeep Singh Sethi, BPT students of the MM

Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation have been conferred with the

Meritorious Invention Award under the category of Budding Innovators

Award for the year 2008 which also carried a cash prize of Rs. One lac for

their rare contribution in innovating a Charismatic Chair which is a boon

for the Rehabilitation of Children with Cerebral Palsey.

A car named as “Trio”, was built by our students, which runs on LPG

Gas, Petrol & Electric Power as well. – Mechanical Engineering students

made a car “Thunder” from scrap having an 115cc Engine and a speed of

35 Km/hr was attained from the car.

Mr. Rohit Gupta achieved CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE at

RENEW BOTIX, a workshop conducted by Technophilia in association

with APOGEE’09-BITS Pilani at SJPMLIE&T, Radour in March 2009.

Mr. Atul Sharma, a student of Dental College of the University has won the

BEST Scientific POSTER Award at the 32nd National Conference of the

Associations of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of India held at Kolkata.

Arunpreet S Kahlon, Presented a paper in 5th IOMC- 2012 Conference in

2012, School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, USA.

Yes, the Feedback about syllabi is taken from all the stakeholders,

especially the students, Alumni and employers. Further the feedback is

also taken about the infrastructure, library facilities, sports facilities,

medical facilities, IT facilities, hostel and mess facilities and general

environment of the University.

Recommendations of the stakeholders have been implemented to the

extent feasible in the best interest of the students. Recently, on the

suggestion of the IT Company of INFOSYS, the contents of the

Engineering courses have been modified.

Average percentage of students progression of the University from

undergraduate to postgraduate courses is nearly 12%, which exclusively

in the courses of Engineering stream is 20%; and from Postgraduate

courses to Ph.D. Programme is 3%.

As calculated on the basis of the enrolment of students during the session

2013-14, average dropout percentage of students in the University is

5.1%.

The unit cost of education excluding the component of salary is

Rs.0.48 lac.

As per decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, reservation policy is not

applicable on Self-Financing Institutions. Since the MM University,

Mullana is also a self-financing University, the reservation policy is not

applicable. However, aggregate percentage of students admitted from

reserved categories of SC/ST/OBC/PH is 23.7%.

Apart from the grant received from various Govt. funding agencies of AICTE,

Development Programmes/Workshops, etc. to the tune of Rs.1,41,31,027/- during the last five years, the University has also received voluntary

contributions amounting to Rs.22,93,659/- from various private sources for the

organisation of different academic activities in the University in addition to a

commitment of the amount of Rs.1 lac for ongoing the confirmation of the

Department of Anesthesia on 25-27 Sept. 2015.

development of university in lakhs

During the last five year, Alumni, parents of the students and individuals have

contributed for the development of the University to the tune of Rs.24,86,000/-

which on an average comes to Rs.4,97,200/- per year.
