San Francisco Trip

Field Trips

Aquarium of the Bay

The great scenery of San Francisco

Exploratorium

Seven students and two teachers from MSA4 ventured to

the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. The first day, in the

morning we visited the famous Pier 39 and the Fisherman's Warf.

Afterwards we had a long walk in the exotic China Town. After

eating lunch at Subway we visited the Exploratorium. It was a

very educational experience using the special setups of many sci-

entific devices. The next stop was the Golden Gate Bridge. We

drove across the bridge and went to a high point to see the great

scenery of the city. It was a long day which tired us all, but who

would complain about getting tired of having fun :).

The next day, the first stop was the Aquarium of the Bay to

see the amazing creatures of the ocean. We could not miss the famous

zigzag Lombard Street which tested the teachers' driving skills. We also

visited many exotic and interesting shops along the way such as the Spy

Tools shop and the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory. Afterwards we went

to the Golden Gate Park, thanks to Taddeo Cabri's brother for supplying

the sports equipment which made our time there very fun. The last activ-

ity was to go to the beach and watch the sun set. Nobody could guess

that the ocean waves would come so close. Yes it really happened; the

ocean waves went over students' stuff, even over their cell phones! It

was quite shocking but also really fun watching it happen. Luckily the

cell phones were still operating after a while.

The last day we visited the University of California’s

campus in Berkley. Our students had the opportunity to observe

the campus environment and get a glimpse at what it might be like

being a student in a university.

We are looking forward to having more great experiences

on the future trips.

Arizona Trip

Field Trips

A number of MSA School students traveled all the

way to Arizona on Thursday April 1, 2010 by bus. We visited a few places like Lake Havasu, London Bridge, Flagstaff Grand Canyon and Phoenix. We were on the road for a long time but we stopped many times for meals and sightsee-ing.

On the first day, we went to Lake Havasu and took

a boat tour. We certainly learned a lot about Arizona and the particular part we were in. The same day we went to Flagstaff to spend the night.

On the second day, we went to the Grand Canyon

for hiking. It took one hour to finish the trail. It was a bit cold and there was snow on the ground. We played with snowballs too. It was fun! Also we bought some souvenirs from the gift shop in Grand Canyon. Later on we went to Phoenix. We stayed at our motel for two days. Everybody was tired and went to bed.

The ext day, early in the morning, we went to the

Mesa Art Center to watch the Turkish Contest. Our friend November participated in the contest . She sang a Turkish Song and we supported her. After that we went to F-1 Fac-tory for go-kart. Our favorite part was go-kart car race. There was an arcade and a giant lot for everyone to drive. It was so fun. Later on, we went to a Western town named called Rawhide. We saw cowboys with their traditional dress and we watched a Gun Fight! It was so awesome. At some points we did see fire coming out of the tip of the gun but they were not real bullets. We ended the day with shopping at the mall which was the biggest one in Phoenix. We shopped there and it was so cool.

On the last day, we watched the finals of Turkish

Contest and many students performed singing, dancing, skits and poetry. That was unforgettable!

In the end we had lots of fun and we watched mov-

ies and made friends during the long bus travel.

Europe Trip

Field Trips

The Europe Trip was an unforgettable journey to France and Turkey. The students went there over

Spring Break.

They flew into France, and stayed there for two days. On the second day, they headed to Turkey by fly-

ing over Europe. It was a total of eleven days and packed with many events to do and see. There was also a

choice of just going to Turkey for nine days. Mr. Gurcan arranged all the trip details.

Timothy Ludwig went to the Europe trip alone with his mom. They went to Paris and stayed there for

three days. They went to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre museum and went to Notre Dame. They also went to

Disneyland. They stayed at the Hilton Hotel.

After Paris they took a flight to Turkey, Istanbul for three days. They

stayed at Ufuk School. The students were so excited to see American people.

They went to Mini Turk, where they also went Go Cart Racing. They took

another flight to Turkey, Izmir and stayed there for two days. They stayed at

Marla Hotel. While they stayed at Marla Hotel they met the parents of one of

the teachers from MSA6, Mr. Koray. Izmir is a beautiful city. The following

day they went to Ephesus. In Ephesus they saw Mary the mother of Jesus. In

Antalya they saw waterfalls and a theatre.

They flew back to Istanbul and from Istanbul they flew to New York.

From New York they flew to L.A. They had such a great time and enjoyed it.
