MAGNOLIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS MAGNOLIA BOARD OF EDUCATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES A regular meeting of the Board of Education of Magnolia School District Number 14 was held in the board room in the Administration Building October 5, 2015. Board members present were Mike Waters, president; William Watson, vice‐president; Steven Souter, secretary; Pat Ward and Lynsandra Curry. John Ward, superintendent, was present. The President of the Board called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The following business was transacted:
The Board approved the September 14, 2015, Regular Board Meeting Minutes.
All members drew lots for the number of years to be served during their term. The results follow:
Mike Waters Zone 3 Four Years William Watson Zone 5 Three Years Steven Souter Zone 4 One Year Lynsandra Curry Zone 1 Five Years Pat Ward Zone 2 Two Years
The Board elected officers for the 2015‐2016 school year. President ‐ Mike Waters Vice‐President ‐ William Watson Secretary ‐ Steven Souter
Mike Waters was elected to be the check signing designee for the district
Carol Longino, business manager, reviewed the September 2015 Financial Report.
The Board approved the Statement of Assurance.
The Board voted to accept and award a bid to the highest bidder on four vehicles and six buses as presented by Chris Hurley, Director of Support Services.
The Board and Superintendent will attend one or more of the listed Arkansas School Boards Association Board Training meetings to fulfill their required hours of training.
