MR 1000 and MR 3000 Series Magnetic Stirrers The MR 1000 and MR 3000 stirrers have a small footprint and provide accurate stirring with virtually noheat up of the stirrer plate. The MR 3004 series stirrers offer accurate stirring (±1%) and Fuzzy logiccontrol provides optimised heating rates with no overshoot. A digital display shows speed andtemperature - both set point and actual.

Jenway, LCD Hotplate Stirrers, Ceramic TopsA custom LCD incorporated into the unit allows the temperature of the heated medium to be set witha resolution of 0.5ºC (1ºF). Preset values between ambient and 199.9ºC can be selected.

If the external temperature sensor is not connected, the unit will default to an internal control element,which can allow the top plate temperature to be set, via the display, from 0 to 100% of the maximumtemperature. Temperature control reverts to the internal sensor if the external sensor is not fitted to theretort clip above the ceramic heating area. Hot warning LED for safe operation.

Model SB302 has a robust aluminium/silicon alloy top plate. The very good heat transmission of thismaterial and a 1200W element gives rapid heating and ensures even temperature distribution acrossthe whole of the plate. Stirrer BarsA broad range of Jencons-PLS stirrer bars are available, with a choice of either ‘Alnico V’ or ‘super powerrare earth’ permanent magnetic cores and either borosilicate glass or PTFE encapsulated. The mixingperformance of different shaped stirrer bars is difficult to quantify, but is generally optimised when thelength of the stirrer bar is approximately the same as the distance between the poles of the drive magnet.

Heidolph, RZR Electronic Overhead StirrersThe RZR Electronic overhead stirrers are designed for continuous operation and provide constant speedunder changing viscosities. The digital display shows both torque and speed. All models incorporateseveral safety features; set speed is displayed at standstill, the motor automatically cuts-out in acontinuous overload situation and a shaft guard is available as an accessory. Units are supplied with ananalogue and RS232C serial interface and can be started and stopped using an optional remote controlbox. Watch & Control software and Profibus MasterCard and PBI interface are available as accessories.

Model RZR 2051 control This model is designed for low viscosity samples (up to 10,000mPas) and features a single speed gearwith a speed range of 50–2,000rpm.

Model RZR 2052 control The RZR 2052 is a high torque model suitable for more viscous samples (up to 40,000mPas). It featuresa single speed gear with a speed range of 30–1,000rpm.

Stirrer shafts for RZR StirrersThe following shafts are all suitable for use with all RZR stirrer motors.

Blade Impeller. Manufactured from stainless steel and suitable for stirring liquids with low to mediumviscosity. BR 14 is supplied with a collapsible blade for narrow neck vessels.

Propeller-Type Impeller. Generates primarily axial flow. Suitable for stirring liquids with medium tohigh viscosity; ideal for homogenisations and suspensions. PR 30/31/32/33 are manufactured fromstainless steel, whilst PR-39 is PTFE coated.

Radial Flow Impeller. Generates primarily radial flow. Manufactured from stainless steel and suitablefor stirring liquids with low to medium viscosity. Ideal for the gassing of liquids.

Anchor-Type Impeller. PTFE coated for mixing liquids with medium up to high viscosity. Low speed range.

Half-Moon Impeller. PTFE coated for mixing liquids with low up to medium viscosity. Comes completewith collapsible blade for narrow neck vessels and is suitable for middle speed range.

VISCO JET® Mixing System. VISCO JET® homogenizes low and high viscosity liquids in vessels bycreating dynamic flow conditions.

The patented VISCO JET® Mixing System is the result of the so-called cone-principle. Turbulent flows arecreated at the taper end by acceleration, displacement and retardation. The IKA ‘Lab-Egg’ RW 11 basic Overhead StirrerA range of four general-purpose laboratory stirrers for volumes up to 2 litres (H20). Each stirrer is fittedwith an exceptionally small and light direct drive unit with stepless speed control from 0–2000rpm. Thestirrer housing is constructed of glass to give added resistance to chemical splashes.

Stuart, Overhead StirrersThere are three models to choose from - the general purpose SS10 which is able to stir up to 15 litres ofaqueous liquid. The SS20 with extra power is capable of stirring medium viscosity liquids up to 25 litres.The SS30 has two modes of torque and is able to stir volumes up to 40 litres of high viscosity liquid.

All models have an innovative chuck which doesn’t require a key for adjustment, an advanced overloadprotection system with a clear warning light, and sophisticated speed control which ensures constantspeed, even if the load changes. Models SS20 and SS30 also have a hollow shaft to facilitate easy height-adjustment of the stirrer paddle.

A robust stand and range of stainless steel stirrer paddles are available as accessories. Paddle heads areinterchangeable for maximum versatility.

637-039Shaft Stirrers, PTFEThese high performance shaft stirrers have a unique, fully moulded construction with a PTFE rotormoulded to a fully PTFE encapsulated steel reinforced drive shaft. They are suitable for use with moststandard overhead stirrers. Designed to reduce cross contamination, they are chemically inert and easyto clean. They are non-scratch, unbreakable and suitable for use up to 280°C. Versions with an exposedstainless steel core for extra rigid clamping in the drive chuck are also available.

637-069 Stirrer Shafts and Blades, PTFEA range of interchangeable stirrer shafts and blades. The shafts are fully PTFE encapsulated stainlesssteel, suitable for use with most standard overhead stirrers. Versions with an exposed stainless steel corefor extra rigid clamping in the drive chuck are available.

The blades are manufactured from pure PTFE, which is totally inert, non-scratch and easy to clean. Theyhave a hole diameter of 6.5mm, are 3.2mm thick and will fit all standard stirring shafts.
