Magic ChromacityAmanda Browder - 2014
...in november, Lauren Lake wrote me asking if I would like to come Bir-mingham, AL to do a project at UAB. I was excited about the opportunity and couldn’t wait to visit. What I found after my second visit was a pleth-ora of magical people who live in Birmingham. Their strength, creativity and spectacular personalities made the process of sewing and installing “Magic Chromacity” an experience I will never forget. THANK YOU to...the City of Birmingham, UAB, Art and Art History Department, AEIVA, Alys Stephens Center, Bib & Tucker, Art Play, Jared, Lauren, Lillis, Doug, Doug, Stacey, Sonja, Monica, Robert, John, Christina, June, Nobie, Lorie, Dar-lena, Shirley, Kyle, Michelle, Jacob, Adam, JD, Lisa, Heath, Helena, Gwen, Kimberly, Laura, Ellen, Fred, Walt....too many, so much love to you all.
*a special thank you to Jared Ragland for taking so many of these won-derful photographs. You captured the humanity and love that was present. Thanks you!
