I have decided to call my magazine ‘Haute Topic’. I have chosen to do this as the word ‘Haute’ immediately gives connotations of a high fashion magazine, while the pun used in the magazine name makes my magazine seem more light-hearted and amusing. I think that this will be effective as I am choosing to aim my magazine at young women and teenagers, so they will likely find a magazine which doesn’t appear to take itself too seriously more appealing. I also think that this audience will find the name more appealing than other fashion magazines as it isn’t generically serious, which should give the audience a change of pace that will intrigue them – hopefully causing them to purchase my magazine.
