A dog named A.C. saved the life of a two-year-old baby, Nolan Stafford. The

baby had fallen into the lake near his home and the dog jumped in and pulled the

baby out of the water.

There are at least 300.000 species of beetles. Many beetles can fly. Their wings

are protected by hard colourful wing covers.

They eat plants and small insects.

A beetle’s starts life as egg. Then hatches into a larva. The larva changes into a

pupa, then into an adult beetle.

One beetle the “longhorn” lives in our furniture. The larva of the longhorn eats

the wood and makes tunnels.

Beetles can be pests because they eat valuable plants and crops. But mostly they

are helpful to us because they eat dead

Hedgehogs don’t run away from danger. They can roll into a ball and

stay rolled up for hours.

A hedgehog into a washing machine.

Michael, a young boy from Ireland, was very surprised when a hedgehog came out of the washing machine along with the clean clothes. The animal had gone exploring in the washing machine and Michael put the machine on without noting the little animal.
