Hi, how has life been post marriage? (Smiles) Oh, it has been wonderful. I am really on a high. I am enjoying life. Life certainly has changed a lot like it hap- pens to everyone after getting married. There are so many things that change and yes, I must admit that one must enjoy all these changes. So, what are the changes that you have already wit- nessed? I think marriage is the biggest change. The other changes happen because of that. The first thing that happens is that your outlook towards life change. When you are a bachelor you are more carefree but with marriage comes a lot of respon- sibilities and these things happen naturally. It’s not forced but you somehow tend to think and do things differently? Your wife, Mira Rajput, is not from the film fra- ternity. Do you discuss work when you get back home? (Smiles) I don’t think people who marry from the same fraternity always discuss work. There are some many beauti- ful things that are to be enjoyed in life. It’s not that I don’t dis- cuss anything related to work when I go back home but I feel quite relieved and relaxed when I get back home after work. You are also choosing your films quite intelligently. (Smiles again) But that is something for sure has nothing to do with my marriage. I think this change in me happened sometime ago and thing got even better after Haider. I am really very careful about choosing my films and I am happy with the way things have changed for good. I am really proud of Haider. It was a film that really presented me in a new way for which I will always remain grateful to Vishal Bhardwaj. We had earlier worked together in Kaminey and that too was a lovely experience but I would say Haider really changed things. I feel Vishal Bhardwaj to be one of the best filmmak- ers in today’s times. So, you are a lot relaxed now? It’s how you take it. As an actor I am happy with the kind of work I am doing but at the same time I am hungry for more good work. I think as an actor that is a continuous thing because you always want to outdo yourself with ever new role you play. Last year was really good for me because all my films did well and were appreciated by the critics. This has certainly given me more confi- dence. A lot is being talked about your upcom- ing film Shaandar. Yes, expectations are really high from me after the success of Haider and I am sure the audience will like this film. It’s a very sweet and romantic feel and I think this is a kind of film people want to watch during the festive season. So, the film too is releasing at a very good time and I am sure the audience will enjoy it. Is the film on the lines of Jab We Met and is Alia’s character much like that of Geet, played by Kareena Kapoor? Oh, no way. It’s no way similar. Though both the film are romantic comedies but neither is it similar to Jab We Met, nor is Alia’s character any- where close to that played by Kareena. But I must say Alia is one of the most talented actresses I have seen of late. She is full of energy and has giv- en a superb show. Geet’s character in Jab We Met too was full of energy and I feel if anyone can do justice to that role today, it has to be Alia. I was in fact, a bit scared working with her because she is really famous today but at the end of the day we became very good friends and we really enjoyed shooting for the film. You were directed by your father Pankaj Kapur in Mausam. And now you will be seen sharing screen space with him. How was the experience? I must say that being directed by him was a lot easier compared to sharing screen space with him. I am really happy to have shared screen space with him because it was a dream acting with him some day. But when we finally started shoot- ing I was a bit reserved and jittery because I consider him to be one of the best actors in our country. So, it was initially quite scary for me, but he made things easier for me and then it was a dream come true for me. We will really cherish these memories for long. Your sister Sanah too makes her debut with this film. As I said, there are many reasons I enjoyed doing this film and will cherish these memories. I am really happy that we all came together in this one film. I am really proud of Sanah as her elder brother. I think that’s how every brother will think about his sister. I hope she does great in life. You have another couple of films on hand. Yes, and I am really thrilled about both the projects. The first to release will be Udta Punjab which releases sometime in the first half of 2016 and then there is once again a film with Vishal Bhardwaj. It’s titled Rangoon and it will be equal- ly good like Haider. (TWF) SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2015 (PAGE-4) BOLLYWOOD-BUZZ PERSONALITY I think marriage is the biggest challenge: Shahid NATURE Shahnaz Husain Internal good health and external beauty are two sides of the same coin. The good health of the body reflects on the skin and hair, in terms of clear, flawless skin and thick, shiny hair. Diet and nutrition play a crucial role in both health and beauty. One of the easiest ways of supplying nutrients to the body is through fresh juices of fruits and vegetables. They are the richest sources of the vitamins, minerals, trace ele- ments and enzymes, which are invaluable for beauty. Juices are in a form which is quickly and easily assimilated by the body, because they are easily absorbed into the blood stream. Being rich in the essential nutrients, juices revitalize the blood, organs and glands. They also have a calming effect on the nerves. Thus, they are of benefit to both mind and body. They also help the process of cell- regeneration. This is of vital importance, as the youth and beauty of the skin depends on the efficient renewal of healthy cells. Taking fresh juices also helps to strengthen the immune system and prevents early degeneration and aging. Juices have long been a part of naturopathy, because of their powerful cleansing and curative actions. They help to cleanse the body of toxins and wastes and also purify the blood. The functions of the internal organs and glands improve and this, in turn, is reflected externally, on the skin, hair, eyes and nails. The health of the skin and hair is direct- ly related to the kind of nutrition the body receives. A balanced diet, which includes a variety of natural foods, is the best source of the essential nutrients. Fluids are also extremely important. Apart from adequate intake of water, one can also have the freshly extracted juices of fruits and vegetables. In fact, this is one of the best ways of supplying the body with the essential nutrients. It also helps to detoxify and purify the system. If the body receives adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, it can make you look and feel better than the most expensive facial treatments. Vitamin C is important for the health of colla- gen, the tissue which gives the skin its firmness and elastic- ity. Most skin problems and even hair loss can be caused by nutritional deficiencies, or the accumulation of wastes in the system and both these are the result of faulty diets. Juices can be extracted from almost all fruits and veg- etables. You can choose from apples, grapes, oranges, grape- fruit, pineapple, pomegranate, beetroot, carrots, cucumber, tomato, spinach, cabbage and so on. Start by taking small quantities and increase the amounts gradually. Once your body gets used to it, you can have juices daily. It is essential to remember that juices must be diluted with water. They should also be taken fresh, immediately after extraction, so that all the nutrients are intact. The fruits and vegetables should be very fresh. Lemon juice or orange juice may be added for flavour, but try to avoid the addition of salt and sugar. In fact, without sug- ar, juices can make ideal low calorie drinks for losing weight. Juices and vessels in which juices are kept should not be made of aluminium or any corrosive material. If you have any illness with diet restrictions, be sure to seek your physician’s advice regard- ing the fruits and vegetables that are permitted for you. Recently cold-pressed juices are becoming popular in India and many ingredients are added to increase the nutritional value and the taste. Some of these ingredients are vanilla beans, aloe vera, amla, etc. Or, cucumber can be combined with cel- ery and lemon juice during summer. They also contain minerals that help to cleanse the system. Gourds are also available in summer and have high water content. Bottle gourd (lauki) can be combined with tomato and carrots to make juices. Experts say that cold-pressed juices contain more nutrients. Green juice, made by the cold pressed method, is said to be rich in enzymes. It helps to detoxify the body and also makes the system more alkaline. It can contain greens like spinach, mint, parsley, celery, cucumber, lemon juice and fresh ginger. Juices for health, beauty MOST SKIN PROBLEMS AND EVEN HAIR LOSS CAN BE CAUSED BY NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES, OR THE ACCUMULATION OF WASTES IN THE SYSTEM AND BOTH THESE ARE THE RESULT OF FAULTY DIETS. Behil Diabetes mellitus (increase blood sugar) is a serious, life- long condition causing death worldwide. The magnitude of problem in India can be assessed by the fact that the estimate of the disease in 2011 was 61 millions and the projected fig- ure for 2030 is around 100 millions. Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which there is a failure of Beta cells of pancreas and there is also insulin resistance resulting in chronic hyperglacemia (increased blood sugar) which causes pathology in various organs like eyes, kidneys, nerves, blood vessels and heart. In diabetes patient there is increased risk of diabetic foot ulcer, about 25% at some point on their life time and out of which 14 to 25% of the people with foot ulcer will require amputation. The risk of diabetic foot ulcer increases with age especially in more than 50 years and older. Men with diabetic foot ulcer are at increase risk than women. People with low socio-economic group tend to be at increased risk for diabetic foot ulcer because of poor access to resources. In diabetic foot ulcer which is one of the most com- mon complication for diabetes there is a loss of sensations of touch, pain, heat or cold, there are not felt easily in the foot or even totally absent in advanced cases and in very advanced cases joint sense is also blunted and the foot becomes twist- ed and distorted which is called CHARCOT's FOOT. In diabet- ic foot there is peripheral neuropathy due to which there is loss of sensations in the feet results in injuries going unnoticed which leads to foot ulceration. The other causes of foot ulcer is foot deformity which leads to formation of calluses on weight-bearing areas. Also repeat- ed minimal trauma can also lead to foot ulceration in diabetes. People with diabetic related heart and kidney diseases are also at increased risk of diabetic foot ulcer. Depression is more com- mon in people with chronic diabetes which leads to lack of self care leading to skin infection or injury which ultimately leads to foot ulceration. Poor vision especially in older people and those with diabetic related eye conditions, may result in falls and foot injury which leads to food ulceration. So education is very must regarding the risk factors and management of diabetic foot ulcer in diabetic patients. Every diabetic patient should inspect the feet daily for blisters, cuts and scratches and if possible mirrors can be used to see the bottom of feet. Wash feet daily, dry carefully especially between the toes. If feet feel cold at night, wear socks. Do not apply hot water bottles, heating pads or electric blanket. Diabetic people should not soak feet in hot water. Diabetic people should be advised not to walk on hot sur- faces such as sandy beaches or on cement around swimming pools and they are also warned not to walk bear-footed. Shoes should be inspected daily to see for any foreign objects, nail points, rough areas and if people have poor vision he should take the help of family members to inspect feet daily and trim nails. For dry feet, thin coat of lubricating oil or cream should be applied after bathing and then dry the feet. Diabetic should be advised to wear proper fitting socks and change them dai- ly. Shoes should be comfortable not too tight not too loose. Dia- betic peoples should not use chemical agents for removal of corns and calluses. They are also advised not to use adhesive tapes on foot and not to bear shoes without stockings. There patients should keep their blood sugar level within normal lim- its. It is possible to reduce the burden of diabetic foot compli- cations by educating the patient regarding foot care. If diabet- ic patients apply all these methods regarding their foot care then the amputation rates can be reduced to 50%. Microsoft did man- age to add some of the wow factor at a launch, the latest Windows 10 Mobile phones look to be a solid offering from the Microsoft. Let's start with the flagship phones. The Lumia division has not had a flagship phone since the Lumia 930 launched back in February of 2014. That is like an eternity in the smartphone space, and considering it was not exactly top of the class at the time, it has quickly fallen behind some of the other players. Microsoft is launching two models of their flagship to suit different peoples wants and needs. One with normal screen size other eith bigger screen size. This seems to be the trend being followed today. Firstone , the Lumia 950 is a 5.2-inch device with a 2560x1440 OLED display. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor (hexa-core), 32 GB of storage, and a 20 MP camera. The Lumia 950XL is its larger brother, and has a 5.7-inch display with the same 2560x1440 resolu- tion, and it is also OLED screen type. The main difference between the two other than the display size is the 950XL has better the Snapdragon(Octa-core) 810 processor. One thing that we have been wondering for a while is whether or not Windows 10 Mobile would launch with ARM 64-bit support, and the answer is unfortunately no. The processors are of course 64-bit capable but Windows 10 Mobile has decided to target 32-bit support as of now. We might see future updates to support 64-bit. The phones themselves are solid offerings and have plen- ty of performance compared to the current generation of Windows devices. Microsoft was keen to show off their Continuum experience, which allows the phone to be con- nected to a display and used as a Windows 10 desktop, means you can actually use your smartphone as win 10 com- puter when you connect it to bigger screen like your T.V,albeit with only access to Universal Windows Apps. The demo was good though and they showed off the app loading and multitasking capabilities very well. The 950 and 950XL feature a removable back, so you can get some interesting rear colors and material choices. Microsoft had some leather backs on display that looked and felt great, and there were several colors to choose from as well. The camera has generally been a strong point of the Lumia line, and the 20 MP model has the same number of pixels as the Lumia 930 but is backed by a 5th generation optical image stabilization. Although as of now the complete analysis of camera in the low light is not available. To check it's capabilities, but we are sureit will set new benchmark in smartphone camera space. The Lumia 950 and 950XL will go on sale in November. The other Lumia announced was a much less expensive option. The Lumia 550 is a new low cost model featuring the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor and LTE. The camera is just 5 MP but the 4.7-inch 1280x720 LCD display also fea- tures Glance. The 550 is decidedly less exciting than the flag- ship , it will be arriving in December. LUMIA 550 #Processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core A7 #Storage - 8 GB internal plus SD card #Display - 4.7" 1280x720 LCD with Glance #Camera - 5MP Rear, 2MP Front #Price Rs 9,899 aprox Lumia 950 #Processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 2xA57+4xA53 #Display - 5.2" 2560x1440 OLED with Glance #Storage - 32 GB plus microSD #Camera - 20MP w/OIS Rear, Triple LED flash, 5MP Front #Price - Rs 38,500 approx Lumia 950XL #Processor- Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 4xA57+4xA53 #Display- 5.7" 2560x1440 OLED with Glance #Storage- 32 GB plus microSD # Camera -20MP w/OIS Rear, Triple LED flash, 5MP Front #Price - Rs 44,000 One thing that has made its way back is the Glance Screen, which leverages the OLED to allow the Lumia to dis- play important information on the display even when the phone is turned off. This is a fantastic feature that I have used on several phones, and having a phone without it becomes a burden if you have used this feature. New Lumias will also feature Windows Hello facial recog- nition to unlock the phone. It needs to be as easy as finger- print unlock to gain popularity. So this will also need to be tested further. All in all the new Lumia phones seem like solid offering and Microsoft might gain it's lost track in smarphone world. The risk of diabetic footulcer increases with age especially in more than 50 years andolder. Men with diabetic foot ulcer are at increase risk thanwomen.

People with low socio-economic group tend to be atincreased risk for diabetic foot ulcer because of poor access toresources. In diabetic foot ulcer which is one of the most com-mon complication for diabetes there is a loss of sensations oftouch, pain, heat or cold, there are not felt easily in the foot oreven totally absent in advanced cases and in very advancedcases joint sense is also blunted and the foot becomes twist-ed and distorted which is called CHARCOT's FOOT. In diabet-ic foot there is peripheral neuropathy due to which there is lossof sensations in the feet results in injuries going unnoticedwhich leads to foot ulceration.

The other causes of foot ulcer is foot deformity which leadsto formation of calluses on weight-bearing areas. Also repeat-ed minimal trauma can also lead to foot ulceration in diabetes.People with diabetic related heart and kidney diseases are alsoat increased risk of diabetic foot ulcer. Depression is more com-mon in people with chronic diabetes which leads to lack of selfcare leading to skin infection or injury which ultimately leadsto foot ulceration. Poor vision especially in older people andthose with diabetic related eye conditions, may result in fallsand foot injury which leads to food ulceration.

So education is very must regarding the risk factors andmanagement of diabetic foot ulcer in diabetic patients. Everydiabetic patient should inspect the feet daily for blisters, cutsand scratches and if possible mirrors can be used to see thebottom of feet.

Wash feet daily, dry carefully especially between the toes.If feet feel cold at night, wear socks. Do not apply hot waterbottles, heating pads or electric blanket. Diabetic peopleshould not soak feet in hot water.

Diabetic people should be advised not to walk on hot sur-

faces such as sandy beaches or on cement around swimmingpools and they are also warned not to walk bear-footed. Shoesshould be inspected daily to see for any foreign objects, nailpoints, rough areas and if people have poor vision he shouldtake the help of family members to inspect feet daily and trimnails. For dry feet, thin coat of lubricating oil or cream shouldbe applied after bathing and then dry the feet. Diabetic shouldbe advised to wear proper fitting socks and change them dai-ly. Shoes should be comfortable not too tight not too loose. Dia-betic peoples should not use chemical agents for removal ofcorns and calluses. They are also advised not to use adhesivetapes on foot and not to bear shoes without stockings. Therepatients should keep their blood sugar level within normal lim-its.

It is possible to reduce the burden of diabetic foot compli-cations by educating the patient regarding foot care. If diabet-ic patients apply all these methods regarding their foot carethen the amputation rates can be reduced to 50%.

Microsoft has officially revealed three phones which wehave been waiting for the quite a while. Microsoft did man-age to add some of the wow factor at a launch, the latestWindows 10 Mobile phones look to be a solid offering fromthe Microsoft.

Let's start with the flagship phones. The Lumia divisionhas not had a flagship phone since the Lumia 930 launchedback in February of 2014. That is like an eternity in thesmartphone space, and considering it was not exactly top ofthe class at the time, it has quickly fallen behind some of theother players.

Microsoft is launching two models of their flagship to suitdifferent peoples wants and needs. One with normal screensize other eith bigger screen size. This seems to be the trendbeing followed today. Firstone , the Lumia 950 is a 5.2-inchdevice with a 2560x1440 OLED display. It has a QualcommSnapdragon 808 processor (hexa-core), 32 GB of storage, and a 20 MP camera. The Lumia 950XL is its larger brother, and has a 5.7-inch display with the same 2560x1440 resolu-tion, and it is also OLED screen type. The main differencebetween the two other than the display size is the 950XL hasbetter the Snapdragon(Octa-core) 810 processor.

One thing that we have been wondering for a while iswhether or not Windows 10 Mobile would launch with ARM64-bit support, and the answer is unfortunately no. Theprocessors are of course 64-bit capable but Windows 10Mobile has decided to target 32-bit support as of now. Wemight see future updates to support 64-bit.

The phones themselves are solid offerings and have plen-ty of performance compared to the current generation ofWindows devices. Microsoft was keen to show off theirContinuum experience, which allows the phone to be con-nected to a display and used as a Windows 10 desktop, means you can actually use your smartphone as win 10 com-puter when you connect it to bigger screen like yourT.V,albeit with only access to Universal Windows Apps. Thedemo was good though and they showed off the app loadingand multitasking capabilities very well.

The 950 and 950XL feature a removable back, so you canget some interesting rear colors and material choices.Microsoft had some leather backs on display that looked andfelt great, and there were several colors to choose from aswell.

The camera has generally been a strong point of theLumia line, and the 20 MP model has the same number ofpixels as the Lumia 930 but is backed by a 5th generationoptical image stabilization. Although as of now the completeanalysis of camera in the low light is not available. To checkit's capabilities, but we are sureit will set new benchmark insmartphone camera space. The Lumia 950 and 950XL willgo on sale in November.

The other Lumia announced was a much less expensiveoption. The Lumia 550 is a new low cost model featuring theSnapdragon 210 quad-core processor and LTE. The camerais just 5 MP but the 4.7-inch 1280x720 LCD display also fea-tures Glance. The 550 is decidedly less exciting than the flag-ship , it will be arriving in December.

#Display- 5.7" 2560x1440 OLED with Glance #Storage- 32GB plus microSD # Camera -20MP w/OIS Rear, Triple LEDflash, 5MP Front #Price - Rs 44,000

One thing that has made its way back is the GlanceScreen, which leverages the OLED to allow the Lumia to dis-play important information on the display even when thephone is turned off. This is a fantastic feature that I haveused on several phones, and having a phone without itbecomes a burden if you have used this feature.

New Lumias will also feature Windows Hello facial recog-nition to unlock the phone. It needs to be as easy as finger-print unlock to gain popularity. So this will also need to betested further. All in all the new Lumia phones seem likesolid offering and Microsoft might gain it's lost track insmarphone world.
