MADISON UMC CELEBRATE RECOVERY NEWS
We plan to have a “soft launch” for our new Celebrate Recovery ministry on August 12! We will have a small
group of women from the After-Care program at Crossroads Ministries in Canton to participate with us in that.
We will then have our community-wide launch of the Celebrate Recovery ministry in September.
We still need more routine or periodic volunteers in the following roles:
Our Food Team Leader, Donis Upshaw, will be contacting our small groups, Sunday School classes and oth-
er church groups soon to provide meals for this ministry. You can contact her at [email protected].
Sara Male will be our Worship Team Leader . Please email her at [email protected] if you would
like to periodically or routinely sing, play an instrument, or run sound/media for the weekly worship service.
Our Hospitality Team Leader, Rachel Sullivan, will be in charge of greeters, room set-up and serving the
meals. You can contact her at [email protected] to help with this team.
Sixty-three students and adults (and Ward!) traveled from MUMC to the
M28 retreat in Lake Junaluska, NC, June 3—7.
WEDNESDAYS AT MADISON
Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals and Programming
have ended for the summer.
We will resume August 21!!
Dr. John Oswalt, our recent Revival preacher, will be teaching a class on Isaiah at Wesley Biblical Seminary this fall.
It will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:50 p.m. Cost is $ 200. Video attendance from
anywhere is possible via an internet connection, too. Here is how to apply to watch and to take the
course.
1. Go to wbs.edu.
2. Click on "Admissions" tab on bar across top of homepage.
3. On left hand side bar, click on "Apply Now"
4. This will open page with application choices. Scroll down to "Audit," and select.
5. This will open the Audit application. Complete the personal information and click "Submit,"
which will then open up the rest of the application.
Dr. Oswalt will be back again with our church this fall on three Wednesday nights, October 2, 9
and 16, to teach on the three great chapters of Isaiah (Isaiah 6, 40 and 53).

our Monthly breakfast meeting on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Isaac Blakemore will continue his series on Christian
Apologetics. We begin with our breakfast at 7 a.m. in the
CLC with the program to follow. Bring a friend and we
will see you then.
