Madeira Micro International Film Festival – MMIFF

From December 6 to 10,

one of the most alternative film festivals in Portugal returns to Madeira, in a very unique atmosphere and venue – a wonderful Art Deco cinema, nestled atop a cliff, 25 minutes away from Funchal, in the picturesque seaside village of Ponta do Sol.

The V edition of MMIFF, Madeira Micro International Film Festival, takes place over five days and features a challenging selection of independent, fantastic and experimental films. In addition to the film’s competition, the MMIFF aims to be an Atlantic Cinema meeting for professionals and all other film lovers.

Debates, conversations, extra fil screenings, masterclasses workshops, after show parties at the cinema’s roof top terrace and a cosmopolitan public/followers from various parts of Europe, who travel to Madeira expressly for the festival.

The festival is organized by Estalagem da Ponta do Sol, Digital in Berlin and Ricardo Borges, owner of the former cinema, sponsored by the Municipality of Ponta do Sol and with the institutional support of the Regional Department of Culture.
