INTRO

When people think of american horsees, they

tend to think of the quarter horse or tenessee

walkers. But no one ever thinks draft horse.

This EXTREMELY large horse is called an

American Cream Draft, he has an amazing

story, for those who care to hear about it.

HOW THE BREED BEGAN

The breed has roots that go back to 1905, to a mare in

central Iowa. She was called “old granny” she had a

“champaign” color, witch means dark gold, or palomino.

Like there foundation mare all cream drafts have amber

eyes and pink skin. These cream drafts are the ONLY

draft to oridginate in america. The breed grew and grew

until they were registered, they are sought out for their

intense beauty and strong build. Though driving and

pulling carts is a thing of the past, people still love to

enjoy this equine passtime and the draft is the perfect

horse for the job.

MY INTERVIEW

I interviewed jordan wise to here her views on the

horse…… me: what do you think of the

breed in general jordan: I think its

really cool how its like the clysdale but better, its

taller and great with children.

jordan seemed to love the draft and think it

was better than a regular old draft.

Compared to the cream gene, which is widespread

throughout many breeds on different continents, the

champagne gene is rare and found almost exclusively

among American horse breeds. Nearly all

American Cream Draft horses are gold champagne.

(sentence from wikipeidia) This discovery effects all horses of

the world. This discovery makes it easier to classify the

cream draft from regular old horses.

breed. These horse are great for kids and copes well

with other horses. I hope that more people learn

about the breed so it gets more widely spread. If

you know about these remarkable horses, please

help the news spread.
