Separated from the India landmass about 88 million years ago, the
flora and fauna of this magical island country have evolved in
isolation. Filled with plants and animals found nowhere else on
earth, this is an amazing destination for those seeking unique
wildlife and incredible landscapes. Feel the electricity as the
rainforest air of Andasibe National Park is pierced by the call of
the Indri, the world’s second loudest primate. Experience a sunset
unlike anything you’ve seen, walking below towering baobabs, “the
upside-down trees”, along Baobab Alley. Can you imagine forests of
stone? A visit to the Tsingy de Bemaraha will introduce you to the
limestone formations that have eroded into giant razor-sharp
spikes. You’ll marvel as lemurs nimbly jump through a spiny dry
forest, somehow dodging the perilous spines as they land. Fancy
some beach time? Relax and recharge by the crystal blue waters of
Anakao, off the Mozambique Channel.
