The speaker seems depressed, it seems like something is torturing him, maybe getting over a death because it says ‘and my griefs infold,” and maybe the death is hunting him in the night and he cant sleep because he also says, “like a fiend in a cloud,” and fiend means demon, evil spirt and his thoughts are going crazy “my notes are driven.”
PURPOSE
• The purpose is to tell how he feels about his vision when he was 10 years and its driving him crazy and he's explaining what he sees and how it leaves his brain in frantic pain so he turns and goes back to the east
